    Hi there,
I’m hoping to get through the AUD material by Oct 9th which would give me three weeks to review if I want to sit on the 31st. Once I finish the material I’m planning to rewrite my notes (I already have 7 legal pads of material and still 2 chapters to go) and going back over the HW. I also have the NINJA notes that I could rewrite instead? Once I do that I was going to take the practice exam and continue doing practice tests assuming I have time. Does this seem doable? I still have the optional questions as well with Becker.

    Thanks
    Rachel

Three weeks of review should be plenty. Personally I think focusing on the practice tests and redoing homework questions would be a much better use of your time than rewriting seven legal pads of notes, but do whatever works best for you to learn the material.

Thanks Allison. I hear rewriting notes is good but I wrote everything and I may waste time trying to understand my handwriting. I may rewrite the NINJA and focus on practice tests as you said. You are 50% there!

the mnemonics for the different letters was very helpful for me when I took the test. definitely hit as many MCQ as you can and understand the different types of assurance, attest engagements, and letters/reports/etc.

Practising the MCQ Becker had was the sole reason I passed Audit. You want to be comfortable with the recurring themes that you see in A1-A3 especially. And don't overlook Ethics. It is tested, and much harder than what you will see on Becker. With A4, good luck. Evidence is torture but we all have to get through it. Worry about A1-4,6, and as for A5, don't freak out over it. It isn't as widely tested according to the AICPA guidelines.

Two weeks before the exam I would do about 150-200 or more mcq's a day and re-read or write out specific sections in the book I was struggling with. I was happy I crammed those last few days, everything was so fresh on exam day.

It doesn't help that Becker put that useless goon Mike Brown to teach A4. I closed the lecture as I was watching it. He was 100% useless. Doing those MCQ/SIMS for A4 was so frustrating especially.

3 weeks is a very long time for a final review. How many hours does that equal?

I wouldn't re-write any notes. Each morning, I would get the juices flowing for ALL the AUD material by taking a cumulative MCQ problem set of 30-50 question. I would end my day with a similar cumulative MCQ problem set. In essence, take a cumulative MCQ test each day. Also, once a day, I would flip through my textbook and review my notes. You don't need to re-read your textbook. Just scan through each page for any highlighted information or pass keys or hand written notes. If something you're not crisp with jumps out, take your time to re-read it to jog your memory or enhance your understanding.

Since you have 3 weeks before your exam, I would go through each chapter's MCQ batches again. Again, take cumulative tests each morning and night in order to increase your retention and expose yourself to all the AUD material.

    Thanks everyone for the advice.

I'm hoping I have three weeks. See how I do on the MCQs. With Becker, once you are one with all the material, they suggest you go back and redo all the questions for each chapter. Then take the practice exams and then do progress tests. That is a lot of questions! I'm guessing it will go quicker because I should be comfortable with the material. Did most of you redo all the Becker questions? I just want to pass!
