Hey guys … I am taking AUD tomorrow at 12:30! I really don’t know how I feel about it at this point. I’m using Becker. Listened to all the lectures, read the book twice, worked through all MCQ’s 2 to 3 times, and scored around 70 on both final exams and I’m not sure if it’s enough. Can’t really change anything at this point, but does anyone have any advice on how to spend my last day of studying?! I’m at work and my boss is letting me study all day and I plan to go home and relax this evening, so that gives me a good 5-7 hours of last minute review today. Please advise, I am really nervous!!!!

Do 2-3 SIMs from all chapters.

That was the initial plan… re-work the SIMS and if there is anything that looks unfamiliar go back and read up on it in the book. I am also earmarking pages in the book that I feel are important so that I can skim them again tomorrow right before the exam. I know everyone says hammer MCQs, but I can’t stand them!!

    – Look over SIMS
    – Make sure you know CR, DR, IR
    – Differences between audit reports
    – Differences between Comps/reviews/audits

I took audit a few times and knowing the above inside and out really helped me get over the hump

I have my AUD retake tomorrow as well. Just finished reviewing everything I need to in order to prepare myself for the best chance at passing. It's not going to be easy but damnit it's time to knock this thing out of the park. Can't worry about pass rates, conspiracy theories of how the exam is graded or even what to expect from Prometric on a Friday. Just keep head looking straight and manage my time on the exam effectively. Then when I am done tomorrow walk out of testing room and be glad it's over and onto studying for FAR starting Monday.

Feeling good heading into the exam tomorrow although I am hearing horror stories about the SIMS this quarter. I sure as hell hope what I learned through the material pushes me through. What do most people do the morning of the exam……burn through 20-30 MCQ to get your brain ready, crunch a few SIMS that you feel weak on, read over your NINJA notes or your own or read all the pass keys in Becker and hit some quick review of your weak areas in the book? All suggestions welcome.

Maybe someone knows the answer to this. Within a particular window, does the AICPA have different versions of the AUD exam, for example ? My guess is YES, and there is definitely a “luck” factor on which exam you get.

All the best Habitual93 and Cruizer. Regardless of hardness of SIMs i wish you both to cruise through AUD successfully.

Just left the testing center… the SIMs were EXTREMELY difficult. This is my first test with SIMs, but they weren't what I expected. Much harder and in more detail than what Becker gives you to practice. For those who are taking AUD this quarter I would recommend that you make sure you have a firm grasp on concepts and how to apply them!! Ugh… dreading score release day :/

habitual: now I'm seriously worried. I've already put in 150 hours and is able to answer all multiple choice questions and sims in Becker easily. It seems everyone who has taken aud this quarter agree to the SIM being extremely difficult. I'm banking on the fact that they have to let at least 40% of candidate pass so hoping I'm in that group. I don't know how else to study for this test. May I ask how many hours you spent studying for this exam?

Habitual93 , how about MCQ ? Did you try to use AL for solving SIM ?

Goingallin: I didn't keep track but I would guess over 150.. I bet you do fine on the MCQ. I've read the book four times and I was comfortable with the MCQ.

Nath: the MCQ weren't too bad! I believe I got a medium-hard-hard testlet and I don't think the questions were too difficult compared to the SIMs. I was able to use the authoritative literature for some of the SIMs but honestly the small screen and all of the words were giving me a headache. There are so many tabs and so much information it was hard to keep my head straight.

Good luck to both of you, hopefully you don't find the SIMs as painful as I did!

@HP93 ,do you feel FAR would have helped you ? Or SIM was more leaning with testing FAR concept e.g. AJE or FS elements etc ? I am trying to understand because it seems you did well in MCQ and that means you have good concept in AUD but not so well in SIM and only thing I can guess is FAR leaning SIM. I am asking these questions as I am preparing for AUD and want to clear it before Q2 , last time missed the bus.

Sitting here drinking a beer post exam and it feels good. Testlets went med-hard-hard. Felt extremely confident in MCQ. There were a few on the 3rd testlets that I flaggged and went back to that were had me thinking “are you f*cking kidding me.” Then came the SIMS and I thought overall they weren't bad but that's because I felt like I knew the material well and had plenty of time to think about what I was doing. You can never study enough for these exams. Every test is different and every time you walk out of Prometric just praying for a pass. We will see come Feb 7th. Until then, onto FAR and away….

Cruzer, all I can do is pray at this point! I had 2 and a half hours for the SIMs, plenty of time. I was just taken surprise by the difficulty compared to the perceived difficulty of the MCQ. Thought the SIMs were a lot harder. Sounds like you did good though!

Nath, I do wish I would have take FAR first, because I did have several calculations. They felt more like FAR questions than AUD material. I think I grasped the concepts well, it's just when it came to the SIMs, they literally had 10 similar options to choose from and I just overthought it and made it harder than it probably was. Audit is difficult for me because I tend to over analyze and second guess myself a lot!
