BEC CPA First Time in 11 days!

    Hello everyone,

    I am currently worried for this exam since it is my first time taking BEC. I have becker and have decided to skip the lectures, but have done my own notes for chapter 1-3 and done the hw and have attempted memorizing my notes but now I feel as if I do not have much time. I am still trying to finish chapter 4. My exam is in 11 days, any advice please?

    R u studying full time? I would say 11 days is enough for BEC with you being on B4 already. Don't bother working out the writing focus on MCQ. Make sure you know IT and perhaps knowing how to do some cost accounting you be good to go! Everyone's exam is different but I think Angie Brown was correct BEC was not a math intensive section compared to REG or FAR.

    Know thy ratio – know each and every ratio inside-out; know what they indicate and know how they relate to other ratios. Hit IT, COSO and variance analysis hard. Practice the writing communication and be comfortable putting your thoughts together, organizing them and writing a professional looking memo.

    MMora: B4 thru B6 is extremely easy. I took basic economic and know basic IT stuff through real world experience and was able to answer most of the homework questions correctly without ever having seen the material before. I only spent three days on those topics. I think 10 days is enough if you've already covered B1 thru B3.

    btw I took econ 15 years ago in college. I scored strong on both IT and Economic even though I spent the least amount of time on the material. Half of BEC requires little studying so I would just focus on getting B1 thru B3 material down.
