Just found out I failed BEC with a 73. My half assed study method was: 1) watch all Roger videos 2) complete all Roger MCQs for that specific section 3) Bang out all Ninja MCQs for all sections until I hated them or memorized them (whichever came last). I took some notes during Roger lectures and also during Ninja MCQs. I also made flash cards for all formulas and concepts I got wrong during MCQs…wondering where to go from here. I have Wiley 2014 test banks and all of Becker’s 2014 materials. Should I continue with Roger and Ninja? should i plow out more MCQs with Wiley and Becker? should i master my WC? idk

@Sticky Nicky I remember you asked for advise before you took BEC using Roger, my suggestion is Roger is sufficient just make sure you understand the concepts ( do not memorize). I watched the lectures for each chapter and took notes then read the book and took more detailed notes then did the practice questions for each chapter. During my one week review I read my notes and did the practice questions in the physical copy book. As for the written portion the best thing to learn is how to properly format your intro paragraph and expand your ideas, THEY IS NO WAY TO PREPARE FOR THE CONTENT.

@theblackCPAseeker this was my first test. honestly felt like i memorized most of the mcqs rather than focusing on concepts. however, like you said, there is no way to feel comfy w this section. ninja mcqs for this section were def a waste of time.

I would say keep reading the book, questions only get you so far

"Fearlessly shape-shifting, to pass this exam!" "STRIVE FOR 85"

    AUD-PASSED!, November 3

Focus on concepts. It is more important than MCQ when it comes to the BEC. You want to be extremely comfortable with the concepts, ratios, formulas, etc. MCQ helps but it is more knowing the concepts and the stuff behind it that helped me for BEC.
