    Becker Question –

Has anyone felt like they helped or are they pointless?
I don’t want to make my own flashcards because I will end up rewriting the book.

I think they are nice but I haven't had time to really go over them a whole lot. For my next sections, I will have to budget in more time to go over them.

    BEC - PASS

    FAR - PASS

    AUD - PASS

    REG - PASS

BOOM!  JUST LIKE THAT, I GOT MY LIFE BACK!  =D

I have a friend at work that let me borrow her BEC flashcards. It was a HUGE stack (could barely hold them all in one hand), and the other sections had obviously even bigger stacks. There was probably at least one flashcard for every book page. It's funny that you said that you would end up rewriting the book, because that's basically what the Becker flashcards do. It was kind of daunting… each card is a condensed version of the book page. Most of the questions themselves are very lengthy and in depth, with in depth “answers” on the back. I think they would be good if you're looking for a condensed version of the book. I personally didn't like them and ended up not using them and going back to my old study habits of writing my own notes from the book. I learn better by writing it down myself. 🙂 I hope this helps!

    REG - 86 (4/11/15)
    BEC - 92 (5/29/15)
    AUD - 99 (7/23/15)
    FAR - 89 (11/23/15) It's over!!!

I've been making my own flashcards, although I have some from Becker that a CPA friend let me have. Just about everyday, I make some time in the morning and night to review them. Is also a good change up if one is burned out on MCQs. It wont be what makes you pass the test, but it is a good supplement. So far everything I know about government has come from doing flashcards, and it has helped me when I've worked on the government MCQs.

I purchased ninja flashcards for $7 and I would occasionally look through them before bed or during commercials. I purchased the Becker ones and never even opened them. I ended up selling them on eBay lol such a waste of money! However, for BEC I found it very beneficial to write out your own FC because it helped with memorizing the formulas. Which is a MUST for BEC lol

YES HUGE YES; they basically re-write the outline of the whole chapter which help you be more oriented. Just don't go over them for the first time the night before the exam. I think the purpose of them is to keep you in track during studying. What turns me off about them is that I believe the instructors are not the ones who made the flashcards because flashcards in both FAR and REG contained information about topics that weren't even discussed by lectures.

nahhhh i found them pretty pointless. in my opinion, it would be more helpful to make your own because they'll be more focused on topics you need help with and you'll start to remember the info better by making them yourself

I got them for free, and I liked them for audit, but nothing else. Theyre a little too wordy and I didnt gain much from them, so overall I would say not worth it.

    FAR: 05/29/15 - 80

If you are trying to score in the 90's then I would say go for it, but otherwise they are overkill. Becker prepares you well enough without them.

    BEC - 82
    REG - 86
    FAR - 85
    AUD - 84 and I'm out!!!!!
    Ethics - 95

My first section was REG, and I used the flashcards for a lot of the beginning material, then got discouraged because some felt way too in depth and did not necessarily correlate with the MCQs.

The flashcards seem to work best for conceptual material, but at the end of the day, I would not recommend to purchase them separately.

I bought the Becker online ones. I hardly used them. In fact after FAR I gave up on them. For me they were a waste of money.

I bought them but found that making my own worked better, If you're writing them, you learn it! I dont write the whole page though. Just journal entries, mnemonics, and things I missed doing homework
