Becker Users – How is everyone imbibing the Skills Practice into their study plan? With the lectures and MCQ and longer sims, I am having trouble finding a way to include it in my study schedule. Each skills practice is 30 minutes long and with every chapter having an average of 8 modules, I am not sure if it would be efficient to go through them all. Any thoughts?

What I did is just do the actual tasks-so those mini problems, and then fast forward through the rest if need be. Some of those “extra lectures” were good for making flashcards and an overall review of some major concepts (like directional testing for example) and sometimes I would listen to the explanations of the right answers if I got them wrong. But a lot of times I fast forwarded through them. I did do all the miniature SIMS as I call them and checked my answers-I actually found it good practice in addition to MCQ and SIMS.

My strategy has been to listen to the lectures and skills practice lectures on the go – walking, driving, etc. I do the problems in the skills practice and MCQ when I'm sitting down and actually studying. I'm hitting my schedule so far.

I love the Skill Practice. I personally wait to complete them 2-3 days before my exam because it's a good review of all the key topics. It mentally tough to wait that long to compelete it because Skills Practice hold a lot of weight in the percent of completion so you always think you are not studying enough because you have not completed any steps. You will have to see “not on track” for a while but it's such a great review.

Giving up is not an option.

The question is not whether I will be a CPA or not, the question is when will I become a CPA.

I need to pass before busy season.

Also, I like to hear the explanation before answering the questions just because at that particular moment I am in the review stage of my studies. Like Holly I hear the explanation while doing other stuff. Laundry, cooking, watering plants, just pacing around the house, etc.
