Hi guys this my fist post here

I have approved to sit for the CPA exam in CA, and I will sit for FAR and BEC in august 2010.

my problem is now I want to select the other two exams so I can sit for them in the next window.

So I have created the ($100 Fee for First-time Applicants) instead of the ($50 Fee for Repeat Applicants ) is this okay?? and is it going to affect my current application.

All I want to do is to pay for the other two exams that I didn’t pay for.

I’m very concern

I was a “new student” at foothill this year so I *believe* I was one of the last to register…I don't know how I was able to get in and everything was wait listed for you..?

Hi! Question here:

My status is Remittance payment received by Board on 06/08/2017. I see they cashed my check in last week. I sent in my transcripts with my school the same date I sent in my application (so around June 1st). How much longer till I get approved? What's exactly the next step? Could I sit for FAR in the beginning of September?

No idea. They opened another section over the weekend (after they told me I would need to wait until Fall.. I just happened to check haha). There were some available spots, but I needed a code from the instructor to add. He refused to give it to me, yet the course still shows open spots. So… I'm taking it at UCLA Extension. Foothill really gave me the run-around while I made numerous attempts to give them my money. Disappointing.

Hopefully your transcripts are ready by the end of this week.

Yea, if foothill did that to me I'd have taken the UCLA extension course no doubt.

I officially just dropped my application in the mail. Will keep everyone updated as to the timeline of events from here on out

@CPYay, that's weird. Did you tell the instructor that you completed the exams and you needed this class for a licensing requirement? One instructor at another CC for another class didn't give me a code (I was waitlisted #1). But the instructor at the Foothill was very nice and gave me a code although the class was completely full. I think it all depends on the instructors.

@NeedsA75 hahaha… I didn't want to be the one to say it, but I'm hoping otherwise.

@ultrarunner. I did. I emailed the summer instructors and explained my situation and the class being my last requirement. I sent the email to all three summer instructors and the department chair. All three replied with a very short response.. basically saying “try again in Fall.” The department chair hasn't responded and probably won't. So on the evening of 7/3 (first day of classes), I logged on and sure enough, a new section is available and it has one opening with no one waitlisted. I tried to register and it said I needed a code from the instructor. I emailed him a brief message and referenced my prior week's email. He essentially said he gave the code away already and didn't want to add anyone else. Granted, I should've logged in at dawn, but I was out of town for the holiday and figured it was pointless to check given their original responses. I only logged on the computer to confirm the UCLA start date and figured I'd look “just because”. Infuriating. It sucks I'm out an extra $700 for essentially the same course (I've paid for everything out of pocket… ~$4K so far), but at least I'm in the course and I'll hopefully be licensed before the end of the year.

Foothill definitely varies by instructor. Drake told me that she allows the first 5 on the waitlist in and I was bumped from 3rd to 1st so I received an add code from her. I have no idea regarding the other instructors. I just genuinely think this course is impacted and Foothill happens to be one of most popular choices to take this course at.

@CPyay, have you considered asking your work for a reimbursement for that UCLA extension? When I knew I had to shell out my own money, I was very adamant on taking the class at Foothill, however, my work was willing to reimburse me for the small cost.

Agreed. The course is in high demand and I'm sure they don't care for one additional student given they'll have people flocking every term.

I'm on the fence about asking. I've been here about 8 months and I've received two raises in 6 months, both substantial. The first was given to me without question and the second I asked for and received just a couple weeks ago. I'm hesitant to ask them to cover the licensing costs at this point haha… I'll definitely ask them to cover my renewal fees and possibly some of the CPE going forward, but I think I might have to eat the short-term costs given the circumstances.

At this point, that's the only thing stopping me from getting my license.

@JT, same situation here.

I called registration yesterday and the lady said grades would post this coming Monday.

I said “F it” and sent in my application yesterday with a separate note indicating that they will receive my foothill transcript next week.

It takes them a whole month just to compile everything before they start reviewing your application so I wanted to get the ball rolling
