I am currently halfway through the exam and beginning to think about the COE.

I worked under a licensed CPA from 2012-2015 but have not since then. Can that individual still sign off or is there a time limitation?

I think it really depends on your state. In Michigan, a CPA just has to verify your work experience. They don't need to be a direct supervisor. They just have to be familiar with your work. In other states, they need to be a direct supervisor.

    AUD - 79
    BEC - 85
    FAR - 85
    REG - 83
    Licensed CPA (MI)

    AUD 69, 73, 79

    BEC 67, 69, 73, 85

    FAR 85

    REG 83

You should check your states rules.
In NY I think this would be fine, but I believe one state has a requirement that the work experience needs to be recent.
    Good luck
