I was just wondering if you can wear an engagement ring during the exam or if you will be asked to remove it.

I tested last Saturday and wore my wedding band. I find my ring to be uncomfortable at times (especially when typing) so I took it off. The test admin when making her rounds told me to put it back on. So…you can have your ring as long as you wear it. Ha!

In my experience, the only thing you HAVE to take off is your watch.

I take my bracelets off because they interfere with my typing.

I went in with a hooded sweatshirt on. I took it off and they made me either put it back on or take it to a locker. They're strict. But they won't make you take off a ring.

Maybe if it's the ring from Lord of the Rings, probably not an engagement ring though.

I've been told to take off my wedding ring and my earrings. The earrings, which are diamond studs, I didn't mind taking off, but I have never taken off my wedding ring and I sure and hell wasn't taking it off for a test. They put a band-aid around it because I argued with them. But then I've argued with surgeons, radiologists and the guy in the haz-mat suit that gave me the two purple pills full of radio active iodine. This ring comes off for NO ONE!

Kricket – I was just going to say the same thing. I complied with every Prometric request but I would not have taken my wedding set off for any person or any reason…and I wear a solitaire, band and anniversary band so I was sure it would be an issue at some point. Prometric never asked me to take them off though.

It seems that every testing center has different rules: I was never asked to take my rings off but they didn't allow me to wear a zip up hoodie because they considered it “outerwear” πŸ™

San Jose Prometric doesn't ask for you to take off your engagement or wedding band.

Personally I don't wear mine for comfort reasons and most of the time I am so nervous for the exam I tend to forget to wear them πŸ™‚
