    Hey y’all,

I know this is a CPA prep forum, but I was hoping someone might have some suggestions for me. I have a bag for work that my boss bought me when I started, and it’s great to carry my computer and a file or two (messenger style), but it’s not cutting it anymore. I need a bag that has much more space than is provided there. I’m looking at possibly a backpack-style bag, but I’m not sure what exactly I need to look for. If anyone has a great, roomy bag that they LOVE, I’d love to hear about it!

My favorite bag was from TJ Maxx but it was a shoulder bag. It was thick and could hold my laptop and the papers I was schlepping around in audit. Some people swear by Longchamp, the bigger version. I ordered it from Nordstrom but did not love it as much as my TJ maxx one. I am not a backpack person. However, I have worked with other people that had just a regular black bookbag like college. Just make sure its durable.

Thanks! I'll look into the one you suggested. I'm not really a backpack person, either, but desperate times and all that. I just need one for schlepping tax returns around and audit stuff later in the year. You know the drill, I'm sure. 🙂

Check out this link. I don't have a backpack, but I did get my computer bag from here. It holds my lunch, my computer, files, and a binder if I wanted. I'm sure the backpacks are nice as well. The material is strong and durable. It's not necessarily the prettiest selection, but if it is only for work I figure it is fine.

I got over the messenger style when it seemed it was causing me back issues. I switched over to a REI brand backpack. I can't find it now online, but they have great options in-store, and the one I have is black and does not look super outdoorsy. It may be worth mentioning I live in Colorado and so it's pretty standard fare to have office stuff a bit outdoorsy.

Step up your game, you're a professional now. Get yourself a Barbour or Orvis briefcase.

@Fratty Redneck – this is primarily for tax season to transport files to/from the office/home. I work from home a ton during tax season, and my little bag just doesn't hold enough files for me. Odds are, clients won't see it often at all. But both of my bosses carry book bag computer bags and one of them recommended I switch so I don't have files freely in my vehicle.
