Has anyone used the website cpareviewforfree.com ? I am interested in especially those who used it for BEC and took the exam. What was your experience like?

Does anyone know if these are CPA questions from the past or just made up?

I tried the free site for FAR when I was desperately trying to find something better for MCQ than the one that rhymes with “decker”. I found the questions way too hard so the hardship of trying to get an answer far outweighed the benefit of any learning from the questions.

I question whether any MCQ provider has relevant and up to date questions on the BEC IT portion as that was way wilder than I expected.

On a separate note, may I suggest that you study a lot of terms related to networking encryption and protocol.

I use it for every section as a supplement. I think the questions are a little harder than what is on the actual exam. They tend to be more wordy, and the explanations of how to get the answer is more detailed than my Wiley material. The week before each exam I try to do every single MCQ for the section I am taking. If I can trend at about 70-75% correct, than I believe I am in a good position for the exam.

I don't believe they are made up of past CPA exam questions. But I find them to be very useful.

As of the last time I checked, cpareviewforfree makes up their own questions. I don't know if that has changed recently, though.

Licensed providers, such as NINJA, use past exam questions that we get directly from the AICPA, so we know the questions are relevant and vetted. NINJA also takes the time to update our questions with each exam change to keep the content current.

I use them for REG. They are fantastic, for being free. Really help you test your knowledge because they are on the hard side.

thanks guys for your responses. Taking BEC in a week for 3rd time. I got 2 74's in a row, so doing everything I can this time around.

I took BEC in June and the last time I attempted to use the free site in earnest was two tests ago.

For BEC, I got about 1/4 of the way into the Becker videos – got absolutely flabbergasted with burnout and contempt for the lack of explanation so I got two sets of review notes (including Ninja), read them then all MCQ from there.

I don't recommend avoiding lectures and time will tell if it was a winning plan for me. 8/17. Tick-tock.

To clarify – I tried CPAReviewForFree with my FAR exam – which was two tests before BEC (I did REG/FAR/AUD/BEC). I found it too hard for FAR so didn't try it for others. The real message is that I found my “mojo” with Ninja.

The part about the videos/lectures was a bit of a red herring but the point being – I found Ninja notes and on to Ninja MCQ more effective than the videos (for BEC). But I await the fate of my decision (august score release date).

Hope that clarifies though my track record is to make things more confounding when I try to explain 🙂

I thought NINJA MCQ really helped with the IT portion of BEC.
Becker was very good but the NINJA IT questions were really helpful.

I used Ninja materials for BEC but I supplemented it with the cpareviewforfree questions. I recommend going through their questions at least once. It will definitely help with BEC.
