I thought passing the cpa exams was hard but the Ethics exam….I can’t seem to get it above 74%! plus I have already used all 6 attempts and have to pay for it again.
Please help me!! Are there really answers in the materials?? I thought I got the right answer but the score just doesn’t go up.
The ethics exam is horrible. Here are a couple of tips that helped me.
1. You're probably already doing this, but write down where you find your answers – the chapter and section. That report that comes after you fail that tells you what sections your wrong answers are in – that is in the order you got them wrong. I know that report is not real helpful since the sections are so big, but if you know where you found your answers and you look at the sections in order of that report, it might help you to pinpoint where you got something wrong.
I made an Excel spreadsheet with rows numbered 1 – 50, typed in my answers to questions and typed in where I found the answer.
2. Pay close attention to California-specific questions! I did not notice this the first time I took that exam and failed. If the question says “California” in it, look for the California rules which are toward the end, if I remember correctly.
Good luck! You'll get there. After passing the CPA exam I could not believe how hard that ethics exam is.

tough_kitty, your scores are great (now that we can see signatures again!). You'll pass AUD and make it under the deadline for Pathway 1, if you need to..:)

I don't need to but thank you 🙂 I just changed jobs – still working for the state, but I am back to traveling so studying is hard now….when I am next to the OCEAN! 🙂 But I'll have to suck it up and go back to MCQs, because at this point all I need is to practice!
