How about the ethics exam? Scores of 75+ all four and a pass on Ethics means you are done. Not LICENSED, but done testing.

Sounds like you're DONE unless you need to do the ethics test, its not a requirement for licensing in my state (MA) so I didn't need that to get my initial license.

Wow cool! 🙂 Does NY require ethics? I thought they did not… Also, what are my next steps? Should I wait for a letter?

oops, I meant to say *not necessarily* qualified for license – if you have your work experience and the passed ethics exam (I thought all states require it but maybe not) then you're done.

If you're in California, you're actually required to obtain 3 semester or 4 quarter units for ethic, which means you will need to go back to school. Stupidest requirement ever. I believe either you're ethical or you're not. Asking me to pay hundreds of dollars for a course that's purely common sense and has already been covered in REG and AUD is so unnecessary.

    AUD - 87
    BEC - 77
    FAR - 75
    REG - 82

Tips please! 😀 What are the next steps after passing the 4 sections? How long does it take to receive a congratulatory letter?

I'm in California too – obviously, I had the educational requirements to take the exams, but…I don't know about the ethics requirement specifically.
To date, I have taken but ONE class entitled “Ethics in Accounting” which was a 3 credit course, required to graduate. I think I did see something on the curriculum sheet
about “10 hours of Ethics” but that could include religion, philosophy, or other similar kinds of classes. I don't know though. I hope I don't have to take any more
    classes. I agree, it's a dumb requirement.

Does anyone know how long does it take to receive a congratulatory letter for New York? Last section date taken 1.2.2017 and score received 2.8.2017. Thank you!!

You're more likely to find NY-specific information if you search this forum for it or post a new thread with NY in the subject line. Alternatively, you could call/email/look up online the NY Board to see what the timing is of the next steps.

FWIW, there used to be several states that if you got your scores through NASBA, then the state board wouldn't get them till after the end of the testing window in which you passed your last test. So, if that was the case, then NASBA would send scores to NY sometime after March 10. Not sure if that's still the case or if that ever applied to NY, though.

    First, congrats!

Second, I'm licensed in NY. There's no ethics exam. Just need to submit various forms and get a CPA to sign off on your experience. Don't know if this is applicable to you or not, but do make sure your firm reimburses you for passing and apply for that $5k/ $3k bonus.
