Expiring NTS Problem

Hi everyone. I am new to this forum as I just found out it existed. Anyway, here’s my situation:

In November I got really ahead of myself and bought my remaining 3 NTS. My FAR NTS expires on May 3 and I have the test scheduled on that day. I have to pass my last test by end of September to get my CPA bonus from my firm.

Studying has not gone as well as I expected as work/life got busy. I have REG and FAR left, and I took REG at the beginning of March (failed with a 70). I am only 2 chapters through FAR and have a full time job working 45 hour or more workweeks, so I really only have a few hours a night and weekends to study. I am deciding if it is worth taking FAR in a couple weeks.

Normally, I would take it, cram in 2 weeks, and wing it, but with the new score release delay, I wouldn’t be able to take the test until mid August and I would risk there not being any availability towards the end of August and early September. On the other hand, it’s like throwing money away to not take it.

Is it worth cramming 8 chapters in these 2 weeks for FAR or should I just bite the bullet, take the money loss, and start restudying for REG to hopefully take at the end of May?

I personally would not take the exam if I was not ready. I would probably re-buy my NTS and take the exam at the very end of May. That extra 3 weeks would be worth it to me… but I am unsure of your money situation. I am one of the people that rescheduled my FAR exam within 5 days of the test day (because i still didn't feel ready) which cost me about $100 (i think).

Although knowing that you just failed REG, I would probably restudy for REG and get it done while some of the information is in your head.
