Jeff,

Any predictions for the Wave 2 release? Also, I'm taking my last part in January 2011. Is it true that all the releases will be at once…on the “down” month? Is that set in stone or is it still open for the depate at the AICPA?

I sat for FAR recently. Has anyone out there taken the test and the 1st teslet was medium, 2nd hard, and 3rd medium? What do you guys believe are my chances of passing this part? The sims were not too bad, but they were not too easy.

Just fot my FAR score -CO NTS#413 =Can't believe I got 80 -when I hadn't completed the sims. All that I managed to do due to time constraints were the WCs on both sims & had to leave all the tabs blank -yet I passed. So there is hope for all of you.

I had a similar situation like yours on the fAR exam -Medium-Hard-Medium & I had very little time for the sims -somehow managed to do the WCs on both sims & left all other tabs blank -still managed to get 80.

State CO -NTS#413.

If I could passt -you'll certainly pass!

NTS 413, dang. I am CO NTS #439 and I only completed one SIM. Happy, you just gave me a little hope. When you go to the https://www.nasba.org/nasbaweb/NASBAWeb.nsf/wpecsi?openform&stateabbrev=CO&infotype=reexamreg and try to re-register for the examination, did it gray FAR out?

FAR was my last section -I'm a CO candidate but I tried the OH -loophole & it didn't let me re-register -I got the message ‘All sections are currently under process'. Later today I found out that I passed FAR. If you have an NTS for AUD and are awaiting FAR scores, then it might be a good sign if you get a similar message on the Ohio -site.

Unfortunately I do not have my NTS for audit. It has every box gray except audit, but I am learning that that is not a sure sign that I passed. Your NTS number is so low. Since mine starts with a 439 it may be a while until I find out.

Hi all,

I just found out I failed FAR by 1 point (again) & it's my last section. So I ordered the Becker 2011 update. Does anyone how many chapters there are under the new format? I won't be getting the new materials until right around xmas and I'm hoping to take the test at the end of February.

@ NK19 – There are 9 chapters for the 2011 FAR text. It's really similar to the prior book expect the authors mention the differences between IFRS and GAAP in pass key type boxes. Each chapter also has an IFRS vs GAAP appendix that gathers all those differences and presents them in one place. They have also done away with the additional reading appendix from the prior version and incorporated all that material into the appropriate sections within the chapters. IMO, this version of the book and lectures do a better job at explaining some of the concepts.
