FAR Exam vs your studies

Without divulging into too much detail, how similar were the FAR exam questions to your study MCQs (Ninja, Roger, Wiley, Becker, whatever)?

Were the questions similar with just some number changes or were the questions completely different, forcing you to take longer per question?

I ask because I noticed a lot of the MCQs I do are relatively similar.

I used becker. Found that I felt like the quetsions were mostly the same. I only saw two questions on the whole test which I had never seen or experienced before so I'm hoping those were just pretest questions.

That's nice to hear. I'm hoping mine will be the same. I don't want my confidence to go out the window when I see 30 obscure questions on the first testlet haha.

I'm interested in this, too. I know a lot of the Wiley MCQs are similar in nature, so it would be amazing if they were practically the same on the exam.

The exam wording for the MC is somewhat similar, but when I sat for my first exam I was so used to Becker's “voice” in the way the questions were phrased, that it threw me off. I know you mentioned that you use Wiley, but I think that only using one source for practice can tend to get us a little too comfortable with the way they word things and approach topics.

To help combat this, I recommend doing as many practice SIMS as possible. The variation in question formats from practicing sims forces you to adapt to different styles of how a question can be asked. I know sims are a pain, but forcing yourself to be uncomfortable in practice will definitely benefit you on exam day. I also recommend looking at other sources of study material to get exposure to different “voices” in question phrasing/ general approach to the same topic. Good luck!

I have used Becker and NINJA, and I feel like NINJA MCQs are much more accurate to the trickiness and difficulty of actual test questions than Becker. I passed BEC with Becker alone but after my 2nd FAR fail went the NINJA route and passed the 3rd time.
