    Yes-if you look at the AICPA blueprint for FAR, look for any tasks in all the different areas marked “analysis” according to AICPA that could be a SIM. Having now taken FAR twice, I can attest that's true. Basically if you know those areas and tasks well, you have a chance of passing this test.

    I'll be doing something productive.

    @Sir Plus-I scoffed at that suggestion as well, but if you focus on those specific areas it definitely helps, because the SIMS do line up to those topics. I might have been throwing everything at this re-take but I think today went better than in November. Only time will tell:)

    Glad you stopped scoffing at the suggestion. I'm pretty sure you nailed your test today.

    @sir plus

    Studying everything really well and retaining it for the test will get you passing scores. Or you could use the blueprints to make sure you are allocating your time effectively towards the topics that are more likely to be tested as a mcq and sim.

    But hey what do I know…

    BEC = 79

    AUD = 79

    FAR = 84

    REG = 86

    Prayer + AICPA blueprints = my success

    BEC = 72 (6/08/16)
    FAR = ?
    REG = ?
    AUD = ?

    How would you guys suggest to study for these areas on the blueprint? Notes, MCQ, Sims?

    @kbshah

    i think what Ana, Lentil, & Anyatver are finding helpful from them is to see what can be tested as a DRS (30-45 min+ TBS w/ separate tabs). Anything that says “analysis” is a fairgame topic as a DRS question.

    I'd recommend not reading blueprints, just STUDY your review software man!

    Sir Plus: so what if the software is giving the run around and the blue print can give us something definite to study. Come on y'all, I don't have any more money to spend on review courses. I went with the cpaexcel suppose to be sufficient until you pass. It is so tedious I couldn't stand it, so I went with just the wiley book and Ninja. I've got some great tips and even got a copy of the blue prints. So come on don't burst my bubble and anyone else hoping these blue prints can nail down some things. (Maybe I should start a go fund me, for suffering CPA candidate)….lol

    @lentil, one of the funniest things in this forum for the past several months has been seeing you advocate for studying the blueprints and nobody going along. You should start your own review course.

    AUD - 64, 80 Passed on 10/09/17

    BEC - 75 Passed on 12/09/17

    FAR - 69, 71, 73, 83 Passed on 06/10/18

    REG - 81 Passed on 09/10/17

    You may have something there. I could also have the AICPA's backing since they only talk about it in a webinar every other month.

    I could also just keep my mouth shut since I'm done now and not try to help the others including yourself try to pass

    Good luck on your last exam.

    Lentil counter, I have been on this forum for quite some time and can say it’s people like you who are strength of this forum.you Ana and Atvyr have the attitude of helping others. You could have kept this to yourself but you decided to spread the message . Big thank you to you.
    Don’t get upset with any sarcasm or denial. I have appeared 4 times and can say it’s really helpful. Pension is exceptional.
    Blueprint just mentioned financial statements of pension but questions of all types like comes bouncer , spins ,wide , no ball , fulltoss From pension.
    Similarly Government, it has so many applications but they don’t ask that details. Otherwise Blueprint is better than CSo .
    Thanks again
