Feel like you passed… and DID?!

I just took FAR on 10/18/16 and really feel like I passed it. It would take too long to provide my complete story but long story short is I have taken each section multiple times. I passed AUD on the 4th try; passed BEC on 9th try, passed REG on 1st and 3rd tries and passed FAR on 3rd try and hopefully the last try(6th attempt) or I lost REG score again. (BEC really screwed me up for quite some time.)

On the FAR exam that I just took on 10/18/16, I felt like the 2nd and 3rd testlets were quite lengthy and very detailed in nature compared to the 1st testlet. Overall I only flagged 2, 4 and 4 in the respective testlets. I knew the material because I had studied the specific items being tested but remember feeling like… this is not your basic FAR material and if I hadn’t just recently covered these areas in detail, this would have been a complete guess on 15-20 questions in the 2nd and 3rd testlets. I found my research and pretty confident in my SIMS as I completed all of them with 7-8 minutes to spare and do a final review. I usually score “comparable” in the SIMS and mess up in the MC area… hence the BEC hangup. I have never scored higher than a 77 but really feel like I was prepared this time for FAR.

I always see the stories about how everyone thinks they failed and passed in the 80’s. Does anyone have a story where they knew they passed and did?

    Impatiently waiting for 11/4/16.

Hmm. The first time I took FAR, I somewhat thought I passed but I was really unsure about the MCQs, that should have tipped me off, received 72.

The second time I took FAR, I know I did decently well on the MCQ but I was still unsure, only because I couldn't gauge the difficulty of the third testlet. SIMs really made me feel that I might have NOT passed, only because I plugged zeros in one sim. But when I left that test, I did feel I did enough to pass.

Yes! It was my 3rd attempt. Though my 1st attempt was a year prior as I took other exams in between. I walked out of the FAR exam and got on the phone and told whoever I talked to, “I passed. I had to pass. If I didn't pass this then I don't know what else I can do.” I went to Thanksgiving dinner and had the same conversations. I took it the Monday on the week of Thanksgiving so I could enjoy the dinner. Well you can see in my signature my score. It wasn't with flying colors but it was a pass and that's all that matters. I felt so good about the SIMS. I knew the questions got wordier and made me think a little more on the 2nd testlet. I think it went back to medium on the third.

I don't know how everyone can tell what level of MCQ they are getting, maybe they are just hard for you! Maybe they were just easy for you!

I am too locked into the questions to worry what level of testlet I got.

I take FAR in 3 days and I know I'll walk out feeling I passed because there's no way half the people are going to out perform me on that test with the amount I've studied. So my confidence or lack thereof won't come from how I feel on test day, it comes from the preparation.
