I am currently scheduled to take FAR on March 8th and realize I will not be ready for the exam. Since my NTS is only valid up to March 10th I am going through with this as a practice test. Would it be better if I spent more prep time on thoroughly understanding the 1st half of the material or should I complete all of the chapters and have only a high level understanding of the entire material. I plan on taking again in the beginning of May. Hopefully this will be my last exam.

You probably will not be 100% prepared for the exam either way, but maybe covering all of the material will give you a better chance of passing?

But I am in the same boat and I am treating this as a practice exam. I pretty much ran through the material to allow myself full two weeks for review but I know I will not be ready anyway.

Even though my NTS does not expire until May I don't want to move the exam to May and then wait for the score until August. I will chill in the summer and retake at the end of August. This is my last section, but most likely not the last exam. 🙂

When the going gets tough, the tough get going.

I say cover as much as you can at a high level. Look at the AICPA outline – whatever topics that are listed with high %, cover those more in depth. March 8th is 2 weeks away – you'd be surprised how much you can cover in that amount of time. I think people make a mistake thinking they have to know everything in the book – they can't test you over all of it because there's not enough time. Think mile wide, inch deep – good luck!

    BEC - 88 8/29/15
    REG - 82 11/14/15
    AUD - 83 1/8/16
    FAR - 80 2/29/16
