How many study hours to plan for a re-take?

I realize this is subjective and impossible to know for sure… but, I need to boost my score exactly 11 points. How many study hours would you think it would take to hit that? I can study full time and am going to try to shoot for Sept. 10th re-take.

I’m still a little shell-shocked over this, but hitting the ground running. I’m trying to get this whole exam done in 2017, and since there’s a possibility I’m re-taking FAR – I feel like I need to get this one in this exam window.

If only I could have found this out, oh, say 3 months ago… 🙁

I just found out I got a 72 on FAR….that I took 5/7. I'm wondering the same thing. I don't start work until Mid-September so I can I fit it in Q3? Or should I wait until mid-October? I really don't want to retake for a third time so I have to pass this time. I just took it so long ago it sucks.

    @brokeonbecker4 I got a 72 on FAR as well. I took it on 5/12. I seriously can't imagine studying everything again! 🙁

“If only I could have found this out, oh, say 3 months ago…” … THIS.

Is it crazy to attempt to retake FAR by 9/8? I need to boost my score at least 6 points. I took BEC on 8/4 and if I retake FAR on 9/8, I will be able to get both scores on the same day.

    FAR - 78

I'd say spend at least 2/3rds of the time I spent before. It also depends on how long ago u took the exam. But, when u work through the material again u will come accross your weak spots and need to work on those areas. I've had to take AUD 3x's but passed FAR and BEC first try.

Goodluck guys and don't give up. Less than 10% of all candidates pass all 4 exams on their first try.

@JB I feel that so much. It's so depressing to be so close but so far. (Pun intended.) When are you thinking of retaking?

@Suzanne I'm wondering the same. Is it bonkers to retake in September when I haven't seen the material since the beginning of May?

@brokeonbecker4 I don't know to be honest. I'm currently studying for AUD. I take that on 9/8. I start working in September, so I won't have much time to study. I think maybe end of October.
Are you gonna stick with Becker?

i scored a 66 in Reg and i was trying to calculate the same thing. i have n't touched Reg ever since 5/31 and just started studying for auditing. i kind of want to attempt it by 9/10 but its a mixed feeling because it might be doable because as we at least have a base going in. at the same time, i feel i wont have enough time and could result in both loss of time and money. in addition, i can only study 5 hours max in a day and i will have to juggle really really hard to find those 5 hours too.

    AUD - 75
    BEC - 77
    FAR - NINJA in Training
    REG - NINJA in Training

@suzanne No it's not. I'm gonna take FAR again (the fourth time, goodness) by the end of this month cause I have plans for September. Guess it's just more about knowing what you don't know right now.
