I'd really appreciate some advice

I have two exams left. Audit and Regulation. I took Audit yesterday, but I can’t imagine that I passed. I don’t think I necessarily did bad on the mcqs, but I got so worried about doing well on them I took too much time and I ended up rushing through the simulations because I lacked time. So I can’t imagine that I passed. So right now I need to start Regulation (which I will start tomorrow or Saturday) and keep reviewing Audit. I think I should keep reviewing Audit because of the long waiting period. The waiting period to get my score back (over 2.5 months) seems way too long to not review, especially since I don’t believe I passed.

So how do people study for two exams at the same time? I’m a pretty slow learner. I seriously get overwhelmed studying for one section at a time, I can’t imagine doing two sections. But I believe I need to study for two sections now because of the long waiting period. I think I just have to be more confident. I take too long on MCQs and always reread just to make sure. That’s what hurt me imo. That, and I believe my simulations were very hard. I heard Gleim has a great test bank for simulations. I use CPAExcel and supplement with Ninja MCQs when I finish my review course btw. While I think Ninja has great MCQs, it seems that on my exams the simulations are alot lengthier. Also, do you guys take notes while you go through your review course? I always take so many notes but I never end up reviewing them. I think it’s because if I take notes for every page/lesson, then it’s just too much to go over.

    Thanks alot for any advice.

If you want to try Gleim test bank, it's on sale today and the sale ends today.

I don't think studying for REG while reviewing for AUD is a great idea-this way you are risking potentially failing two sections. It's not a fact that you failed AUD, I would just study for REG and wait to see what 8/16 brings…When did you plan to sit for REG?

I agree with anyatver. You should just focus on REG for now. I was 99.99% sure that I failed AUD, but I passed. I almost cried after the exam. In my opinion, AUD is the most unpredictable section of all. I think you have a chance to pass. Good luck on REG!

@anyatver @ultrarunner I'm not sure when I planned on siting for Reg. I guess i'd take a week or two during my review course and see how quick i'm going. But if I don't review Audit for 2.5 months, don't you think I would forget many things that would be crucial to passing? Because lets say I don't pass, wouldn't that mean i'd have to relearn alot of things? At this point, the sims were pretty bad for me, so I really don't see myself passing since it's 50 percent of the exam. I know everyone says that, but I just don't know how I could have passed. If I did test in Q3 for Reg it would be as late as possible.

Probably just go hard on Reg, and a light review of audit (ninja notes/flashcards), in case of an unfavorable result in August. I'm kind of in the same situation, If I fail FAR, I will have to take Auditing again…I'm focusing more on Auditing for now because Its 18 months since I've passed that one. I will do a light review of FAR (flashcards/JEs) while I'm waiting but nothing too serious.

I don't think reviewing two sections at the same time is a not good idea, especially when you still have a lot of time until AUD.

As of taking notes, I also took a lot of notes during the first round of review, a very detailed review. The best thing you can do now, is to condense your notes. Get rid of easy stuff that you already knew. Summarize your notes, only including areas that are complicated for you. Limited to 2-3 pages per chapter and not over 30 pages overall. If you have time before the exam, you can condense the noted again. Before exam, make sure you have about 10 pages note that is full of areas that are difficult for you and review it again and again. That's how I prepared my noted and passed the exam. Hope this helps.

Jsn3004, I took AUD while I was waiting for FAR score. I found out that I failed FAR, but I kept studying for AUD (because I already signed up for AUD). After AUD, I studied about 4 weeks for FAR retake. Then, I passed FAR as well. I think 4-week is good amount for re-take (I work full-time). If I were you, I will sign up for REG ASAP. Since you already passed FAR, I don't see you having any problem passing other sections. All the best.

So it looks like i'll be studying for Reg while doing a very light review of Audit.
I'm using CPAExcel. Even though I have some problems with CPAExcel, since I already used it three times, I might as well use it a fourth time. That, and the fourth section is free. I'll be purchasing Ninja MCQs once i'm done with my review course, but does anyone have any advice on other supplemental material? Has anyone used Ninja Audio and/or Ninja Notes for Regulation? I think since I have a hard time condensing and reviewing notes, Ninja Notes for Reg couldn't hurt.

@jsn3004 Condensing your AUD notes sounds like the way to go, since the material is still fresh in your mind. Also, you just took the exam, so you might still remember which concepts stumped you. Maybe just go through your notes and highlight the nuggets that stand out as “I wish I could have remembered this during the test” and then rewrite those.
