Just found out I passed FAR with a 76 after my 5th attempt. Man, does this feel good. However, the pressure is on to pass AUD and BEC before 1/31/17. I have AUD scheduled for 9/8/16 and I’ve been studying for a little over two weeks. Should I reschedule it to the first week of October OR should I just take in as planned? I don’t feel prepared for it and I am not even through the opening phase of Ninja MCQ. Waiting until October will only give me two cracks at AUD before my REG expires. What do you think?

@Vanessa – It really varies, but typically I try to get 1.5-3 hrs on weekdays and 3-4 hrs on Sat/Sun. Average about 15-25 hrs. a week.

@golfball – That's kind of what I was thinking. I haven't even touched BEC yet so I'll need at least 6-8 weeks for that.

I would say if you are not prepared and depending how much material you have to cover, reschedule early October. I had mine scheduled for 09/08 as well but I changed to October since I was not even anywhere close in preparation to be ready for 09/08. I bought 10 point combo.

    AUD - NINJA in Training
    BEC - NINJA in Training
    FAR - NINJA in Training
    REG - NINJA in Training

I mean, why wouldn't you take the test in two weeks. If you fail, you can easily take the exam in October again because you'll probably get your scores in late September anyways.

Doesn't it cost like $100 to reschedule an exam or almost half the test? If so, you're risking less than $100. Besides you might get lucky; it will also be a good practice experience as you're limited time-wise. You'll end up learning of your strong and weak points.

B=84 This exam was such a b**** that I thought I failed-don't know how these things work
A=76 Slacker I am, I'll happily take it
    R=81 I LOVE taxes
F=80 I don't wanna get banned for an expletive I'm thinking with "yea" proceeding it

Exam fees are more than $100 in my state. I don't know if that varies from state to state. I need to make sure I pass AUD next so I think the best course of action is to get through Ninja MCQ review phase. I can't see that being a possibility in just two weeks. I do work full-time with significant deadlines looming.

I haven't watched lectures and I haven't read an actual book for AUD. I've been studying for a little over two weeks. I rewrote Ninja Notes twice and now I'm about 200+ MCQ in to the Ninja software. I'm planning on just drilling MCQ until early October. Do you think this will be enough??

no meed to rush it. give yourself plenty of time to pass both.
audit in early october then bec in early december.
audit – you have to know the type of engagement, the phases of an audit, and whether it is issuer or nonissuer. hitting the ninja mcqs and reading everything that comes up in the response is essential.
i printed out the home pages of the standards and referred to the list from the source cited in the mcq answer. read one or two of the standards to know the format and the difference between numbered and A sections to help with sims.
use the standards as a study tool when you need to better grasp what tasks should be completed for each phase. this is key!
review the recently released questions to get a feel for how they are worded on the exam.
BEC is a hot mess – i did ninja mcqs till my eyes were bleeding. don't get frustrated just hammer through. take good notes amd stay organized. miles capital budgeting video and roger's variances videos are free on youtube and are great.
do them both before december 10 to give you another shot in early january should you need one.
    good luck!

@broag…it depends. How do you feel about the test right now? What have you studied for AUDIT.

For Audit – what really helped me was flashcards, NINJA notes and doing a lot of MCQs, but you also have to understand the material.

I've said this in other posts, but a way to test if you know what you're talking about is to explain to someone who has no accounting experience, or even your dog. I did with this flashcards and my boyfriend would quiz me. So, I had to explain it my own words so he would understand as well. I think that was really helpful for passing the exams.

Yea, but rescheduling will cost you $100 dollars? A new exam is $200. So you're really only losing $100 by taking it and failing in a few weeks ($200 minus reschedule fee of $100?). Might even be more than $100 to reschedule.

@monikernc – when you say you print out the home page for the standards, what do you mean exactly? Can you elaborate a bit on reviewing the standards to help understand the flow of the audit?

@vannessa – I feel like I have a good foundation for Audit since I work with it a decent amount, but I don't feel like I understand the whole process perfectly yet, hence, I don't feel comfortable in my ability to pass it right now. I like your idea of explaining the whole audit process to someone/thing else. Probably better that I talk to a person than a inanimate object! How did you organize/go about doing your flash cards?

@broag….so I purchased WILEYCPA and it came with flashcards and I studied those.

But if you don't have flashcards you can make your own. Either from NINJA notes or from your personal notes or from MCQs with whichever areas you are struggling with. I would even suggest making flashcards from the whole NINJA notes. I think that is what rewriting does…it reinforces the topic. But explaining to someone does the same thing. My boyfriend would get bored and could only do an hour a day, but it's really helpful and a way to spend time together hehe
