Is it too late to apply to take REG part in 2018 Q4?

I’m a first tim time applicant. If I send my application right now through Nasba will I get a NTS before December and be able to take REG part by December 10?

I know it says on their website that application processing time is 6-8 weeks but I read that some people received NTS much faster in less than a month.

Or it’s now late and I should take other parts of the exam first?

    Thanks!

I would look at the availability of the testing centers around you first. If some of them have openings on the 10th, then go for it! But the testing dates can fill up pretty quickly.
If you file your eligibility application online and follow the steps, you should get your NTS within a few days. If you receive your NTS and this window Is full, don't sweat it. You have 90 days after receiving the NTS to schedule/take the exam. So you could just take it in Q1 of 2019.

Totally depends on test center availability. It would stink to apply and get your NTS but then have no testing options. I've tested in different parts of the country and prometric availability was drastically different. WA state needed a month at LEAST to get a good spot, in CO I applied a week before each exam. I don't think my first time application actually took 6-8 weeks so I would go ahead and apply with NASBA to see what happens and start studying.
    Good luck!!!

If you go ahead and send in your application now, definitely follow up with phone calls in about a month. My initial application was taking FOREVER to be approved, but when I called to check on it they put me on hold, then came back and said “Yes, we have your application right here and we'll get it processed this afternoon.” If I didn't call, I wonder how long I would have still been waiting.

@Panders: That sucks. I will definitively call them in 3-4 weeks.

You should also order your college transcripts asap because you will need those. I had to get mine from a junior college and from state university so get that process going. In CALI I always book my exam last minute once I feel ready unless it is the end of the testing window but even then you will probably find something in the vicinity that will open.. people are constantly doing last minute cancellations. You need to go to your state's Board website to apply but I initially applied several years ago so not sure if anything has changed.
