Is it worth it? Net Present Value of CPA Earnings Premium

    Absolutely amazing statistics. What is considered a large size company, my guess is a company with revenue > $250M…? The jump is big from small to bigger company, which makes a lot of sense being there is more volatility in a larger company i.e. Room for growth/expansion. But who the hell wants to work a million hours in coroproate accounting. Whatever you do, becoming a CPA is the smartest thing us NINJA's could do.

    Also, qualitative factors such as having a secure job should be considered. And, being “Recession Proof” although I am sure CPA's are not completely immune to a recession. But, we fare much better compared with other occupations. There will always be a need for audits, taxes, bookkeeping, consulting, etc in the short/medium term!! And, hopefully the long term!!

    There is also value in how many more doors are open to you. I just took a position as CFO of a public college and I don't believe that opportunity would have been open to me without the CPA designation.

    Pfft. I didnt do it for the money. I did it cause the Audit Committee will have our rear end if we dont pass our certifications.
