And my overall impression, it was a fair examination. But it was such a random shotgun blast of questions and topics from the front to the back of Becker…Maybe there was rhyme or reason to the questions but I couldn’t see it.

The SIMS were very fair, there was only one that had me scratching my head. I went into the SIMS with 2.25 hrs and it was manageable. No crying about the exam from this guy.

Studying for much longer than I did would have been an absolute waste of time. Glad I got it out of the way, as I was in panic mode yesterday. It is done and over with, and I’ll wait for score release on Feb 7, the same day I sit for BEC.

@cessnapilot30 mine wasn't a random shotgun blast but its funny how the examiners are able to find a not so strong area and attack you in it. I feel like they then base at least a SIM or two off that area (Gotta love that).

I have taken AUD 3 times and was really able to feel like I tied things down this last retake by copying NINJA notes word for word 2 times and not get completely slapped in the face by reading the answers word for word and looking for a word they try to toss you on. Overall, when this process is all over we will look back and say damn that was an interesting time in my life.

Cessnapilot30- what study materials did you use? What was your ninja or other stats before taking this exam?

@ActionCPA, I only used Becker. I paid for it out of pocket, so I couldn't justify purchasing another review course.

I just got home from AUD and feel the same! Some questions were very strange and random but we should be used to that by now. I finished with 1 1/2 hours left. Good luck and fingers crossed. 7 weeks til FAR for me 🙂

@Mary how you managed Time to finish it in 2.5 hours ? I struggled for time and even after 4 hours I couldn't finish one SIM.I would appreciate your tips for time management.Do you think Becker's review material was sufficient ?
    Thanks in advance

I took AUD yesterday and felt the MCQ were fair but the sims were a nightmare. This was my 2nd attempt, I really prepared myself more for the MCQ’s because last qtr ( 12/4 : 70 ) I took it and killed the sims, I also left myself almost 2 ½ hours to do them. This time around I left myself 1 hour and 45 mins. Walking out after those sims I felt absolutely horrible about the test.

@cessnapilot30 ,how you prepared for SIM ? Which review material you used ? I am preparing SIM through NINJA and they seems to be very hard .Any tips on how to improve upon SIM would be appreciated. One more question ,did you take help of AL to solve any SIM ?

    @Nath,

Honestly, I only did a few SIMS in Becker..I think it is futile to practice for them. The ones I got were just a different avenue of approach to the multiple choice questions. And yes I had to call in the cavalry for some of the SIMS. They were challenging. But if you knew where to look, they might offer clues, not necessarily help you solve the problem

I took AUD last night in Santa Fe. First time I've been to that testing center. I say night because I got out of there past 5 MST. I started the exam at 1. Small testing centers are different.

I took my audit re-take on Saturday.

    First booklet, killed it.

2nd and 3rd were things I'd just literally never focused on because they never came up before and weren't focal points in Becker. (This was my 3rd re-take. First exam I took because nts was expiring, Then actually studied and took it in November got a 72)

I was convinced by those mcq in the 2/3 testlets that I failed.

Then SIMS. I only had one research which was lame. I had much more…interactive Sims than before. I think I killed it on the Sims with the research except one that was soooooo past a general knowledge of Audit that I was in way over my head. It was basically doing actual audit work with workpapers and such and I was just lost.

Now on to FAR and or…jumping off a bridge? Lets see!

@Natalierose LOL I think we had the same SIM! I know exactly what you mean.

@Nath I'm not sure what advice to give you about time management. I have just always been a fast test taker. I am a quick reader and I did ALL the Ninja MCQ's so I felt pretty comfortable on the MC. I think I had 3 hours in total left for SIMS. That is just me though and I have always been like that. Who knows, it might be my downfall! We will find out in 2 weeks 🙂 In the meantime, back to FAR!!

@natalierose I am taking FAR the same date as you and finished my AUD retake on 1/13. I felt confident walking out of testing center but you just never know until you see the score release and even then you really don't know how you got/deserved that score. I guess we wait till Feb 7th and study our heads off for FAR in the meantime.
