Has anyone recently been licensed in IL? I’m just wondering about how long it took. I can’t find anything online and there aren’t any recent threads around here that I could find with the information.

Awesome, thanks so much!!! That's good news for me. I'm coming up to the 2 week mark in a day or two since submission, so that means I could potentially have it soon. I check it constantly, just waiting. 🙂

@Jennifer, in your experience how long after sitting for an exam did it take for that exam to show up in the “current exam results” on the ILBOE site?

When I took REG, I feel like it showed up almost immediately with a W status but nothing yet for BEC. I wonder if it's because of the NASBA site still being down somehow?

Also, do you know if the IDFPR or ILBOE did any kind of background check on you after you applied?

@Jennifer I submitted my application on 01/05/2018 and got my license on 01/16/2018. I was pleasantly surprised by the quick turnaround.

@PJ Once you apply on the IDFPR website there is a list of items with statuses…I think there was defaulted student loan debt, back child support and a few other things. I am not sure to the extent or how those things are checked.

@PJ the length varied, but usually within a few days it would appear. I would imagine that the update might be throwing things off. How long ago did you test? Since scores are due to be released in a week, if it didn't appear by Monday I would call ILBOE.

Like Javilon said, there are questions, but I'm not sure how in-depth they go. There are the questions mentioned, and also about any prior military service or criminal charges, and whether you're current on taxes. When I applied, it had all the sections listed, but for the last week it's just showing education, exam info, and experience as waiting to be reviewed.

Did you wait the 2 weeks like ILBOE states before you sent the application? I did not. I waited until the 15th when they sent the info to IDFPR and then applied that day. I feel like since it's taking 2 weeks to review that information I shouldn't have a problem.

@Jennifer First off congrats on getting your license. To answer you question, I did not wait the 2 weeks either. I got my ILBOE approval on the 3rd and after waiting two days decided I couldn't wait the 2 weeks! heh.

Dang, wish I would have known that earlier! I knew I couldn't wait the 2 weeks, but I knew ILBOE said they wouldn't even send the information to IDFPR until the 15th. It took all I had to wait just over a week!

Hi All!

I’m applying for my certification in IL by transfer of credits from NYS.

I had NASBA send my scores and my school sent my transcripts.

Any idea on how long the process take ? I asked the IL board the lady told me 6-8 weeks for review?!!!

Does that make sense ? It sounds extremely long !!

@tommy thank you for your reply. Were you a transfer credit applicant? I'm wondering if there are different processing time for transfers.

@Bets sorry for the confusion. No, i tested through IL. But i do know they tend to under-promise and over-deliver. It shouldn't take 6-8 weeks.
