Anyone licensed or getting licensed in Louisiana? I have a few questions and I’m sure there’s stuff I haven’t yet even thought about asking.

Louisiana DOES NOT require an ethics exam before licensure? I understand there are a number of hours required as CPE but not as a condition of licensing, right?

There’s a letter they send with the congratulatory letter with insurrections, but I want to make the October meeting so I can be a CPA beginning January for tax season.

I am in a similar situation as you, and am hoping to get my final passing score on 09/19.

Based upon my understanding of what is posted on the Louisiana State Board of Accountancy website, you just need to complete the following two forms:

(1) Application for Certificate (License) as a Certified Public Accountant
(2) Experience Verification Form

I have both forms complete already, and when I get my passing score (hopefully), I'll go to my Supervisor for signature on the Experience Verification Form.

I'm not entirely sure if we have to wait for the Congratulatory Letter or not prior to submitting the two forms. Maybe someone else can shed some light on that?

I don't think we have to wait for the letter. The letter does come with next steps that if you miss will prolong the entire process. I'm trying to avoid any additional time after this crazy 2nd qtr wait.

FYI – spoke with someone at the board yesterday who says they’ve changed their process. Now they process the applications as they receive them, and it takes about 8 weeks. There is no need to wait for the congratulatory letter.
