Hi, has anyone passed the new BEC exam using the new Becker format? I’m seeing that some of the MCQs i’ve worked on, the book didn’t really do a good job on covering the topics.

I personally haven't, however my best friend also studying for the exam passed BEC with Becker only and somewhere in the high 80s. I also was able to pass the new format FAR, REG, and AUD with Becker, first try (not bragging). I wasn't the best accounting student and really struggled in college to perform well. However, I followed Becker to a T, and it just worked for me. Definitely take notes on MCQ cause I think they do a better job explaining things than the book on some topics.

    AUD- 76

    BEC- 83

    REG- 81

    FAR - 88

I used Becker for BEC and passed with an 80. I would recommend going through the lectures again on the topics you're a little shaky on because after I did that I really understood some of the topics better. Try to do as many mcqs and you can and read why each answer is either right or wrong, it definitely helps.

Also, I would strongly recommend writing down the formulas multiple times. I rewrote about 100 formulas 5 separate times and they really stuck for me.

    AUD-12/8

    BEC- 80 (8/28/2017)

    FAR- 10/31

    REG- Haven't started

@rj2017, I took BEC the same day as you and scored the same as you! That was a lucky day for us 🙂

, I totally agree with you that the book does not do a good job at preparing you for the mcq, but just stick with it and focus on learning why you did or didn't get a question right and you will be ok! And I agree with above, rewrite allllll the formulas and mnemonics.

    B- Pass
    A- Pass
    R- Pass
    F- Pass

    B 10/29/16
    A 10/1/16
    R 9/2/16
    F 7/26/16

I used only Becker, studying for a little less than 6 weeks, and passed BEC with a 95. I do feel your pain, the book doesn't cover everything you see in the MCQs. The PURE DADSDADS variance analysis mnemonic wasn't covered in the book, when I first saw that as an explanation of an MCQ I wanted to burn the book. The one thing you'll want to do is read every sentence in the IT chapters because the MCQs are not nearly enough.
