It used to be about 3 months. Anyone know if that’s changed? Thanks!

@ReckedRacing, I am really sorry to hear that you are in a situation where you feel that you boss is taking advantage of you. It does sound like you do majority of the work while he gets majority of the reward. The 60/40 at my firm is very straightforward and is based solely on profits & losses. So how much we individually bill does not come into play. I am involved in a lot of the tasks at my job and would estimate I account for more than 60% of the billing. But I am not complaining as this partnership agreement has increased my income from $100k ($80k salary + $20 SEP retirement contributions) to and estimated $160k (could be even more based on how we perform this year). Plus the expected buyout will eventually lead to a further increase in income in my near future.

I would say you should try to get a recruiter and shop around for better opportunities. You are clearly smart by you CPA scores and a hardworker, so you definitely deserve better than just 20% to start.

The wait for the test scores seems more stressful than the actual test itself.

^ thanks for updating us. That's great! Since my application sent to the board on 11/13. Hopefully I will receive an email by next week that my license is approved. How long does it takes for them to mail the certificate and update your license number on the website?

When you say they are up to 12/1 for example, do you mean that they are up to applications they received in the mail on 12/1 or something else?

It's the date the board received your application. You have to call to ask them when they received it. Could take up to a month for them to receive it after you mail it.

Took a week or two from the date of overnight mailing, until my application “went before the board”.
I think it was 4/4 until 4/13 off the top of my head. Then it took until August 22nd until I was approved to sit, and August 28th until NASBA contacted me, as NYS did not let me know I was approved directly. Good times…

Just in case anyone else on the 15 year pathway is curious how the post exam process works. I received this email back from NYS today (Took about 10 days for a reply just to give you an idea of the backlog they have with emails, so if you write them, be patient.)

We have already approved your 15 years of experience, so your file will not come back to the board office. The exam scores are loaded into our system, once per quarter, about 2-3 days after the quarter ends. Once you have successfully passed all 4 parts of the exam, please send an email to Processing Unit 3, so that they can prepare your file for license issuance.
Good luck on the exam tomorrow!

It appears they only receive exam scores once per quarter, so if you're waiting on your final score to be processed to get licensed, keep that delay in mind as well.
