It used to be about 3 months. Anyone know if that’s changed? Thanks!

@cleethree: Oh boy I think you are right! I called them up again today and no luck. The lady actually told me that if the mailing room misspelled my name, they won't know if it was received until they actually get to that batch.
@ReckedRacing: I don't want to think that he is actually capable of that, but the more I think about it, the more it scares me. He had been trying to figure out what are my plans once I get licensed… I don't even want to think that he is still sitting on that envelope after he told me he mailed it 2 weeks ago… that would be super evil.September 28, 2017 at 1:56 pm #1640096ReckedParticipantI would alleviate his concerns that you are going to pack up and leave that job.
Obviously do not post anything on a public forum that would indicate the contrary as he could potentially access your posts.
It is best to have everyone assume that business will proceed as usual.October 5, 2017 at 2:01 pm #1643821AnonymousInactiveThank you! I decided to re-send the form, this time using a tracking number. Now I can actually see the progress. The envelope has not been mailed yet, but I pray this will get done. I was not even thinking of leaving my position in the company, I honestly do not know what make them feel that way.
October 5, 2017 at 2:32 pm #1643837ReckedParticipantHas the boss signed the form yet, or you assume not because you cannot see any tracking results on it?
October 5, 2017 at 11:00 pm #1644076MOACParticipant@cpashoed08 my boss took 2 1/2 months to sign mine.

October 9, 2017 at 12:33 pm #1645349AnonymousInactive@ReckedRacing Well, yes and no. I gave him a FedEx envelope prepared with everything he needs. He would only have to review, sign and mail. The envelope is still on his hands as I see no progress with the tracking number. Even if he signs the form, I cannot mail it myself or the form will be deemed void. I gave it to him a week ago and stated I wanted to overnight. He seemed very willing… at least on the surface. The first one took 3 weeks to get done, so I would consider this one to be within his normal turn around time still. LOL!
October 9, 2017 at 12:35 pm #1645352AnonymousInactive@MOAC What??!! Are you kidding me? How did you handled it? Any tips? I feel its so unfair. After we go through so much with the exams.
October 9, 2017 at 3:49 pm #1645426MCParticipantHas anyone spoken to NYS and know what date they are currently up to? I am approaching 15 weeks. When I reached out 2 weeks ago all they told me was “they are currently taking 16 weeks”. What is the best number to call to get a more specific answer?
October 9, 2017 at 7:46 pm #1645526ladybossxoParticipantI submitted my application earlier this year in late February and the supervisor experience form was sent out first week of March. I was rejected end of September.
Here's the story:
I am a Canadian citizen. I met the educational requirements however there was an issue with my supervisor's license. He's a licensed CPA in IL as well as a CPA in Canada. With his IL license, he cannot perform attestation services in Illinois. My firm is a public accounting firm and we do Canadian assurance files. The individual verifying the experience had concerns that my supervisor is mixing and matching his licenses in Canada. He's performing attestation services in Canada, not in Illinois. When my supervisor got on the phone with the individual, it was said that I needed to do US work, but as a Canadian, it is impossible. It doesn't say anywhere on the websites that US experience needs to be fulfilled, as long as I am supervised by a licensed CPA. So now, I don't know what to do.CPA Exams Done.
October 10, 2017 at 9:33 am #1645709AnonymousInactive@ladybossxo Oh boy! I think I would figure out the pros and cons of finding someone else who could sign up on my license. Is there anyone else in your company that can sign on the application? Is switching jobs to a firm with someone that can sign on your license an option?
October 10, 2017 at 10:22 am #1645745nascar95ParticipantI just wanted to share my experience so everyone else gets an idea of the timeline, since I benefited so much from reading the posts on this forum.
I confirmed that NYSED received all my information as of 6/6/17. I was also told 14-16 weeks for processing, and emailed them right at the 14 week mark to follow up(it took a lot of patience to wait that long before contacting them, but I waited).
An email came through today saying my application was approved for licensure, but that it still needs to go to another unit for processing before the actual license gets mailed out (a few more weeks).
I'm just happy they approved it. Up to today, it's been 18 weeks. Therefore I would suggest allowing about 20 weeks (including final processing) to get your actual license after NYSED receives all your education, exam and experience info.
October 10, 2017 at 10:32 am #1645754MCParticipant@nascar95 Congrats!! Also that is really helpful, thank you. My application was submitted to the board 6/27 so I am a few weeks behind you. I've heard that your name comes up in the online verification system a few weeks before you receive the license (since I'm sure their mailing process is just as slow as everything else).
October 10, 2017 at 1:11 pm #1645856lexus423ParticipantI am grandfathered in to the 120 hour which requires 2 years experience. I have 4 years under 3 different CPAs. I can get 4bs from all of them with at least a year under each. Is it worth getting all 3 4b forms or is submitting 2 just as good? Any pros and cons to either method?

If you are refiling the Form 1, you need to indicate your experience, so I would indicate all 3, and request form 4B from each. As long as NYS can verify 2 years full time, I don't think it matters beyond that threshold. -
