Obviously not during the videos but while doing MCQ or rewriting notes. Sometimes I find that I can listen to soundtracks with no words, but other times I have to turn it off all together.

So what do you listen to?

Pure silence while studying here. I put in some ear plugs and go to study town.

Different story when working though. I listen to Tiesto's Club Life podcast from iTunes, which is a free weekly podcast. They play some great stuff!

For me, my study or working music has to vary based on how I feel and what I'm doing – some days metal, some days Disney…and about anywhere in between. 😉 The biggest consistent factor that I have found is that I can't listen to music that I'm not familiar with – it has to be music that I've heard so much that it doesn't interest me anymore. So, I'm better listening to music that I own and have worn out than Pandora, unless it's a Pandora station that I have played entirely too much (like my Disney station – I don't own any Disney music, but used to listen to it when I was tempted to fall asleep at work, so I've heard it all way too much 😉 ).

Eminem! Don't care if anyone judges me. I'm not ashamed! Love me some Marshall Mathers!

Silence, or Game of Thrones soundtrack.

And of course, if I ever do really well on something it warrants listening to a little Joe Esposito

absolute silence. Sometimes I even put on noise canceling earphones and not have any music going through them. I get distracted wayyyy too easily and my boyfriend always has the tv on in the evenings.

Well, it's been a long time since I took the exam, but when I'm working and I need to focus (a lot of what I do involves reading new convergence standards or the codification, so I need extreme concentration) and as a result, I can't focus if there are a lot of words. But at the same time, total silence is unnerving to me. So the best thing for me is white noise. Specifically, beach waves + rain + thunder…I have a 60 minute track on spotify that I loop all day. It works really well for me. Makes me feel like I'm sitting on the beach…all I'm missing is my Corona 🙂

Meh, depends. For the last month I've been listening to the Oscar Pistorius trial while studying as well. I guess it is kinda making my mind stay active and focused rather than thinking about stuff I wanna buy on Amazon Prime (I really need rehab for that). However, sometimes I like it silent except for the street, neighbor, bird noises outside.

SamdiegoCPA – EBay is killing me. Sometimes I set goals for myself for my “study session” and if I reach them, I get a prize…

My boyfriend and the postman are getting to know each other really well (he's always home when the mail gets here).

I can only listen to instrumental music while studying. Otherwise I'd be too distracted.

Here are a few good artists:

    Ulrich Schnauss

    Joey Fehrenbach

    Thierry David

Armin Van Burren or any kind of house music. It ehlps me to zone out and concentrate fully on the material. However, anything with singing or words throws me off track.
