PA Moral Character References

I am a recent graduate and I am starting the application process. I found out that I need moral character references to take the exam, and I must know these people for at least 3 years. I am a recent graduate. None of the professional relationships are 3 years long. I’ve asked my professors, but I’ve only known most for 2 years.

Who did you ask for references? Can it just be a friend? If I submit my app with professors, what should I include in the brief explanation?

    Thank you!

I am in PA, and for my CPA reference I used a professor because I also had recently graduated. I had known him for a little under three years so I submitted a brief explanation saying that I had just graduated. For my other two references, I used a coworker I had known for three years and a close friend. There were no questions asked. I'm pretty sure they don't have to be professional relationships, they just can't be family members.

Man. I'm glad I didn't have to do that in GA. What a pain, having to do that extra leg work before you can even sit for the exam. I hope it all turns out well!

Basically did the same…I used some professional relationships for two and a Prof. for the CPA reference. I didn't know him for three years and wrote a brief explanation. He was happy to sign off and they get this request all of the time.

I profit from your CPE frustration. You're welcome.
