    NINJA Question –

I want to pass all 4 sections in the 1st qtr. I have had this CPA monkey on my back for 10 years and I’m sick of it. I wanted to see if there were any other crazy people out there who wanted to help keep me accountable?

Yes i know it’s crazy but here is my situation:
-I have sat for all 4 exams at some point in my life using Becker average score in the 70’s
    -I took FAR 10/2016 got a 70.
-REG scheduled 01/06 – I am in final review now (feeling confident)
-No Kids, live alone and own my own espresso machine
-Job allowing me to work from home 1x/week with max 40 hours, I have plenty of PTO time, Boss really wants me to pass
    – I conditioned myself to study 4 hours/day weekdays and 6 weekends

    Plan of attack:
I just cant stand watching another BECKER video so I’m going all NINJA and Wiley.
    -REG 01/06
    -FAR 01/27 (rematch)
    -BEC 02/24 (weakest subject)
    -AUD 03/10 (lost credit)

This is an Hail Mary attempt to pass I’m just using the April cut off date as my motivation to just get it done.

    FAR - 05/2015
    AUD - 75,11/2014
    REG - 07/2015
    BEC - 09/2015

I'm not trying to be a downer but if you're going to ask for my honest opinion, I'll say try for two exams before Q2. I'm not saying it is impossible for someone to pass all four with less than 3months ( you really only have till march 10th), but considering you did not pass on your first attempts that tells me the material is not easy for you which means you need more time to study. I don't understand the logic of trying to pass all four in one quarter. Wouldn't it be better to pass 2 instead of none?

When I pass I'll be burning everything related to the CPA (says me now).

Thanks Gina for the advice. I know I can study more but 4 hours a day is just about all I can do before I want to jump off a bridge. But maybe I can work on my stamina. I will definitely be taking the flash cards w me to the treadmill.

I have 4 weeks of PTO and a stress free job.I took this week off to study for REG. I plan on taking a week off for each exam if not more. My job is super flexible my boss really want me to pass and they paid for the exams.

If I pass 1 or 2 sections before April that would be a great success for me. Like I said I've been messing w the CPA for 10 years now. I study then chicken out at never take the exam.

The goal is to take all 4 on the dates I mentioned before. If I get 5 days out and I'm not averaging over 75 on ninja I'll reschedule. It's just an ambitious goal for me that keeps me motivated to get up at 4am everyday and study.

I won't take the exam if there isn't no hope in passing = )

You guys are great. Love all the feedback.

If you dedicate to a date, don't change it. Otherwise you'll find a different excuse to not do it. Take the entire week off before the exam to do an extensive cram. Heck, look into Roger cram course, he does an amazing job, in my opinion, of condensing the material to the bare needed to pass. I wouldn't waste vacation time studying, unless your exam is in a few days. 4 hours a day is alright, but in the short window, double that if you can. Even if that means you study for 4 hours in the morning, do something for an hour or 2, then another 4 hours.

Your statement about not taking the exam if their isn't hope of passing is the negative outlook you should avoid. If your goal is 2 months, do it. Take the hit for a bit, lose your life for a bit, sacrifice everything you can in order to pass. The cram courses from Roger are, I think, at most 18 hours. That is for FAR. BEC is about half of that I believe.

I think you can do it if you were taking FAR in the first days of January, meaning you would have had to been studying for FAR already during december. FAR takes the longest to get through, and REG is the 2nd fastest (on average, audit takes more hours than reg on average due to A4 and overall amount of material per section).

So ideal method: FAR —> BEC —-> REG —-> AUD

Bec and reg early as possible to try to lock in before changes. You might run out of time for the last exam, might as well get bec and reg in.

Again you will have to study 8 hours per day give or take. Only doable if you arent working

I know someone who passed all 4 in a month of audit low season. I remember he told me 4 hours a day and 16 hours Saturday and Sunday each. No lectures though, just practice MCQs day and night.
    Good Luck!

Go for it! Anything is possible!! 🙂

Do NOT quit! There's more in you and if you quit you'll never see it. Show you that you can do it.

    FAR Passed  77

I'm tired of operating in fear and mediocrity. It's time to try. It's time to do. It's time to go.

Usually I would encourage these types of threads, because I usually make them (lol), but If you aren't banging them out under normal circumstances, then there is no need to rush. Especially w/ FAR, and maybe even REG. Trust me, I had (have) the same mentality but have learned the hard way. 6 exams in Q3 and Q4, with only 1 pass, 3 fails in the 70s. I always found myself scrambling and running out of time. Hell, I just tried to shotgun FAR primarily with Ninja MCQ (I did sit when my average was low to meet the cutoff) and paid for it. That's just me though (no regrets!)….

I do wish you the best and please be sure to keep us updated!

@Gina – I'm going for it. I am testing in the 70 – 80's on REG and i still have 4 days off work,2 weekends and 14 days till the exam.

I have Becker Final review for FAR to help me. I have taken FAR twice with a 70 and 74. I hope the final review and nonstop questions 3 weeks will get me to 75.

I have the Ninja 10point combo for Audit and BEC and I have all my Notes from Becker. I may consider adding Rodger I have seen his videos on YouTube and I like them. The memory tricks don't work for me I have to make sense of it to remember and apply it.

I had a serious problem with the memory tricks in BEC for the same reason…when it's some arbitrary framework, like COSO, or the IT crap, memorization only does so much. It's useful for something like deductions in REG because it's a real process.

@financelady don't listen to the downers, you can do it. I almost did it and I have a full time job with two kids and a husband. I studied 3-4 hours per night and 8-10 per day on the weekend. I always took the day before the test off work and crammed my weak points just in case, got 3 passed that way. I'm sure that without distractions you CAN do it!!!!

    Thanks @CPASOMEDAYMAYBE (love the name)

I really have no good excuse not to pass. All my bills are on auto draft. My job is on cruise control, I work from home 1x/week and I have been leaving at 4pm everyday for a month now. My friends have forgotten about me. My boyfriend is a total weirdo and workaholic he sits with me in coffee shops nights and weekends. Ohh and I found 3 people in on my floor at work who are taking the CPA exam

I honestly have no excuse not to pass, I have never had more perfect study conditions.

I'm personally trying to do both BEC and AUD in Q1 and am already stressed thinking about passing them both since it took me a quarter to study for each FAR and REG. If you can do it let us know how!
