Hello,

Does anyone have an idea of what must be memorized for REG?

My review materials don’t state what does or doesn’t need to be memorized but the MCQ i’ve been seeing heavily test on the phaseout amounts. However, the forum says that I don’t need to memorize the exact phaseout amounts. They state that I should only know how to calculate the loss/deduction based on information that is given to me.

I’ve seen phaseouts being tested for AMT, various credits/deductions, etc in my review materials.

Took REG last week and worried about the same things. It didn't seem like phaseouts had to be memorized. The only one I'd stick to knowing are the Passive “Mom and Pop” phaseout. But do remember exclusion amounts being important and the conditions.
