    Hey guys,

I will be starting REG tomorrow and I have it scheduled March 10th. I’m using Becker. What are key topics to know inside and out, etc? (kinda like BEC = IT & COSO, AUD = SSARS)

    FAR - 76

    AUD - 89

    BEC - 84

    REG - 86

Definitely know the first six chapters inside and out.
Like Olinto mentioned in one of the lectures: If you do well in the tax portion (first six chapters), you can bomb business law (the last two chapters) and still pass.

I tried this and did pass with a 75.
I did this because I only had 3 weeks to study, but I wouldn't recommend it.

I would say review business law but don't spend too much time on it.

Individual tax hit me hard in the SIMS, as well as property transactions. Also BASIS. If you only know one thing going into REG, know the ins and outs of basis across difference situations.

    AUD - 79
    BEC - 82
    FAR - 79
    REG - 86
    DONE

    FAR - PASSED 11/14
    AUD - TBD
    BEC - TBD
    REG - First take 2/16

Basis is very important, yes. It's not a hard topic, you just have to pay attention.

I would study tax (you basically need to study it all) and cram business law and professional responsibility. Just shove business law in short-term memory immediately before the exam, regurgitate the answers, and then forget it the day after.

    AUD - 79
    BEC - 88
    FAR - 89
    REG - 80

Agreed with the others. Cram business law and prof responsibility. You might get a few questions here, but its mostly important to know the terms.
Your main area of focus needs to be on tax. Be sure you at least review the actual IRA forms, and if you have time it wouldn't hurt to review some of the instructions as well.
Knowing how the tax returns flow will likely help you a great deal on the SIMs.
