    Hi all,

I am single lady living in Bay Area San Francisco. I just have a big fight with my family. I have found that I am struggling in making a living here. I am thinking to relocate to seattle, WA but am still working on an CPA exams that I have registered already. I know that the best way will be finishing my exam and then to consider relocating to another state. Anyone of you live in Seattle with an accounting degree? Is it really hard to find a job? How does it compare with Bay Area San Francisco? How is the rent with one bedroom?

Have good faith in yourself on the way of studying CPA exams😄

It's doable, but at what expense…no pun intended

You may also want to check out city data's Seattle forum for supplemental info

    AUD - 76
    BEC - 81
    FAR - 81
    REG - 77
    This too shall pass...

Come on up, we are hiring. There are LOTS of well paying accounting jobs up here especially if you have construction or public experience.

We have the same drawbacks as SF- crappy politics, crappy congested traffic, and the heroin junkie issue. Seattle and the northern suburbs are very high cost- almost on par with SF, real heavy taxes on EVERYTHING. If you choose to live south (I live in Tacoma) it is less expensive but the drive into Seattle is a pain but there are also great jobs here in T Town and in between the two cities (Auburn, Kent, Tukwila, Puyallup, etc). Check out Zillow for rent prices.

There are several public firms in T Town hiring right now- Moss Adams and others. Also in Puyallup.

Also right now it is DUMPING rain, we have not had much of a summer but you should be used to foggy damp if you are from SF proper and not further inland. This is a very passive aggressive area, and the Seattle Freeze is real (Google it) but I'm pretty direct and outgoing and have no problem making friends. I also enjoy being a regular contributor to the Left Lane Prius group on Facebook, of which Seattle and SF is regularly featured LOL!!

fassopony broke it down real good. Everything she said is on point. It will be easier to get better paying work with a CPA license for sure there are plenty of jobs here. Way cheaper to live outside seattle for sure and there is work in the outside cities…I live and and work south of seattle. Good luck!
