Reschedule FAR Exam?

I have my FAR exam scheduled for November 7th. This is my second attempt at FAR and last before I lose credit for a prior section.

I NEED to pass or all of my work I’ve done passing the 3 other sections will be wasted. Would it be so bad to put off the exam until the end of November? I have to take it this window anyway.

Isn’t it better to spend a couple extra weeks pounding the material and pass rather than do what I can at this point and hope for the best?

    Thoughts?

Do you think you need it? If so then yes go for it. But you have been studying hard for a while if you take too long you may forget some stuff.

I'm just worried that I won't be fully prepared. I still have weak areas. I can't afford not to pass. Too much riding on this.

According to many people here you will never feel 100% ready, but if it makes you more comfortable to move it down why not?

    BEC 05/12/14 77
    REG 08/25/14 82
    FAR 11/25/14 80
    AUD 02/25/15 72, 05/15/15 98! DONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

FAR was my last section I needed to pass also and I really took my time the third time I took it. I reviewed everything until I felt like I knew it better than I ever had before. If you only have this testing window to take it in then I would take all the time that you have available.

    FAR- 70, 68, 90
    AUD- 72, 85
    REG- 74, 83
    BEC- 81

What was your score on your last test?

When I scored 73 on my 2nd test for FAR, it was so close so I knew I could pass it the next time around. I was aiming for the 1st wave in Q2, but I had slacked off for a few days too many times that it turned out to be several days to weeks, until I skipped 2nd wave. Then things happened.

I got a new job offer to start early in May after scheduling it for 5/7 testing date. So I had to juggle my studying with my new job training, then received the bad news about my dying mother. I ended up scheduling it on 5/31. At the last 3 days of my final review, a very serious family problem happened that crushed me to the ground. I was ready to give up and cursing the people around me, “It would be your fault, if I fail again!”

Well, those were just part of my personal Ninja drama, LOL. The real Ninja arose from within me and shouted at me with this:

“Hey there's no way you can blame anyone if you fail. It's all in your hands! Get back up and show the world you will pass because you've already worked hard for this one, period!”

So I got back up, gathered all my notes together, studied like my life depends on it during those last 48 hours, then went in to the testing center. I barely passed, yes. But I crushed the beast!

Y_U_No_Pass made a good point, the longer we delay it, chances are we lose some stuff.

However, if you know those extra weeks will help you and get straight with everything, then go for it. You know your body and mind, more than others do.

With my REG in the line now, I have been pushing it back for a few times. I am only half-way done with my studies with only 7 days lefts till the testing date. But I got to stick to it and just give my best shot this week. I have BEC to take care of this Q4 as well.

Good luck to all of us!

I think you're right. It is better to spend the extra time and really know the material.

Very impressive score of 90! WOW! What material did you use?

I used Becker but to get the 90 I added NINJA notes, Becker Final Review and Flash cards and Wiley Test Bank. I didn't want to leave anything to chance my third time around. FAR was definitely my nemesis and I wanted to know the material as well as I possibly could. I was getting close to losing BEC and I didn't want that to happen.

I use Becker. They helped me pass the other sections with ease. My last FAR fail was because I was burnt out and didn't do half the homework. But there were no surprises on the exam. I failed because I didn't put in the time.

I've been putting in the time but I don't feel comfortable yet. I still have to hone in on my weak areas. I've been avoiding them… I know I'm will never be 100% ready, but for the other 3 I felt well prepared.

If I didn't work and have kids to worry about, I would be easily prepared by early November.

I am just still reluctant to reschedule. I need to do it asap before the later dates are taken.

I did reschedule the exam to the last week in November. Gives me a couple of extra weeks. It's my last section and I'm in no rush. I'm not comfortable enough with the material yet. Rather be over prepared. Can always keep doing progress tests to keep old material fresh.

Better over prepared than fail on exam day because I didn't take the extra time.

So it worked. My extended notice to schedule came through this weekend. So I was only out the $35 cancellation fee!
