    Hi Everyone,

I’m currently studying for Reg and I’m experiencing extreme difficulty trying to understand it (especially corporations). I am wondering if anyone has any suggestions about how to go about understanding the subject matter better.

*I’m currently using Becker as my study guide.

    Thank you!

REG is kicking my butt too. It's not all over the place like BEC was, but it's definitely in depth. Repetition seems to be the only way.

    AUD - 92
    BEC - 84
    FAR - 89
    REG - 84

Repetition is probably the best piece of advice. Find out what your exactly struggling with and work those questions numerous times. What helped me was to do all MCQ pertaining to a specific section (i.e. S-corps) and write down everything that you have trouble with on a piece of paper. Then do the same thing with the other sections and then compare the notes. You will find out what the differences are for each (i.e calculating basis)

Repetition is the father of learning...

    AUD:  62, 72, 75

    REG: 57, 71, 79

    BEC: 63, 74, 65, 74, 86

    FAR: 64, 67, 76

    Ethics: 92

As Ralph_s6 said, repetition is key for studying. In my studying, I found that if I struggled on certain topics, using the book to work through those problems helps a lot, and by the 3rd or 4th time through, things started to click. It is frustrating, but it works out eventually. I would also suggest moving on to other topics in REG, and then coming back to tax, a break might be useful.

    .

    REG - 2/19/16 - 77!
    BEC - 4/16/16 - 79!!
    AUD - 6/04/16 - 84!!!
    FAR - 8/31/16

Dive into that Becker book. Going straight to MC after watching lectures just doesn't work the best if you ask me.

Dive into the book, make notes. Then do MC.

Once you get into the review stage it will all click, but you really have to concentrate on molecular details, and there are a ton! Becker covers it well so as everyone else before me recommended – keep going back to the book, then back to MCQs and back to the book.

When the going gets tough, the tough get going.

    All Done!!!

    AUD 7/6/16 Passed
    BEC 9/3/16
    FAR TBD
    REG TBD
