    Hello,

I’m only on my 3rd day of studying for FAR but I’m feeling very overwhelmed. I am working full time and I am using the Becker review course. I am doing each section as advised, watching the video lecture, re-reading the book, doing the skills practice and then the multiple choice for reinforcement. I don’t feel like much is sinking in and I’m spending a lot of time on each section. I get up before work to study, study on my lunch break, and then spend my entire evening studying and I don’t feel like I’m getting anywhere. I am wondering if this is normal and if anyone has any tips for studying? I am trying to take FAR by the end of November bc I am told that the exam is updating in January. Any help/tips are appreciated!

I am an old former Becker student, even a student rep, many years ago. But lately, I started using Ninja products. I heard a lot of good things about Ninja. Currently using it for my coming FAR/REG/BEC exams.

You can always add a supplement with your Becker materials, especially if you're kind of crunched with your studying time. You already have a head start with Becker, and that's a good thing. But you know what works for you, and need to do be done in order to get that ‘passing' mark.

    Good luck.

    AUD - 49
    BEC - NINJA in Training
    FAR - NINJA in Training
    REG - 55
    Passed: AUD (75%'08/77%'17), REG (76%'09) & BLaw(77%'99); highest on FAR (63%'11/'15) & BEC (63%'11). Credit Hours: USA(PH)-BCom'85(4yr-grandfathered); UBC-(DAP'02/'19); DC-(BBA-Acctg.'22-4th yr)=over 150 hrs credits

I think this thread (below) says a lot including my thinking on the topic. How many exams have you done? If this is your first, then best bet is to do it their way. If you know the game, then you can get creative. It's normal to start out feeling that way but with review you have to be able to see that you have advanced in the learning curve and feel confident with the material. That will come from many sessions of MCQ – either in Ninja if you get that or in progress tests in Becker.

I need help on how to study FAR!!!!

    AUD - 77
    BEC - 81
    FAR - 77
    REG - 81
REG - 1. Becker only - fail (forgot to study depr - oops); 2. Becker only - Pass
FAR - 1. Becker only - fail; 2. added Ninja Notes and MCQ - Pass
AUD - 1. Becker videos; Ninja Notes, Audio, MCQ, Becker Notes - Pass
BEC - 1. Ninja Notes, Audio, MCQ, Becker Notes - Pass

Totally normal to feel completely overwhelmed. Once you get into the groove, it will feel a bit less overwhelming. I agree with M123-follow the Becker method-it works! I would strongly recommend supplementing with Ninja-best way to review before exam! 3 for 3 passes here, tackling the last-FAR in November (hopefully I am done soon!)

It will all come together during your review. As others above said, do what your review course recommends. Also do the progress tests when you've completed a chapter, it is a good way to consistently review the material.
