Hi everyone. I was wondering if anyone had any experience working in Tax in individual and corporate. The firm I worked for had two separate departments, and the experience I gained was excellent in 1040/trusts but I didn’t have too much exposure to Corporate/partnership tax. In terms of career in tax is one more lucrative than the other, and does anyone recommend trying to get experience in both not to sort of limit ones self. Thanks!

You're going to want to do both if possible. As like you, I started off with mainly individuals and trust. As I got more proficient with those, I was given more corporate/LLC/partnership returns. Now that I'm pretty good with those, I am now given non-profit returns.

Your goal is to get experience in all sorts of tax returns. Try to get into payroll and sales tax as well.

If tax is the road you've chosen, you'll want to master any kind of form that has the word “tax” in it 🙂
