Thoughts on writing your own flashcards?

I’ve heard this often recommended as a study technique. Basically just buy a few hundred index cards, and write stuff down on them from lessons or questions or whatever.

Yay or nay? Should you just copy from flashcards provided by study programs? Or make your own as you go along? Or waste of time?

Make a few Flashcards on major topics from each section. You understand that way you think so when you study the Flashcards later it connects more. Making flashcards can be time consuming so definitely focus only on prioritizing what you think are key points or likely to show up on the exam.

I don’t like to do them by hand (I study on the go and like my flashcards on my phone). There are several useful apps, one such app is called flashcards deluxe that is extremely intuitive and well put together.

    Good luck

I say do it– but you have to be able to learn this way. I cant just sit down and read a book or listen to audio lectures. I learn through repetition.

I made my own on brainscape.com. I wouldn't of known about this website if it weren't for Ninja. Like Journeyman said, it is definitely time-consuming. It took me almost 2 weeks just to make my cards. I've passed 3 and working on FAR solely using this method.

I think it’s a good study technique especially for BEC and REG. I didn’t do it for AUD or FAR though.

There’s actually a website, where you can make flash cards. Then you can play them on your phone from the app. For a few dollars, I was worth the cost (might have been free).

I think that is the way to go. I used regular paper but notecards also work
