    HOLY. HELL.

I just took BEC this evening and got my ass handed to me.
I was fairly confident after FAR and AUD and got an 85 and 84 respectively but I will be utterly shocked if I pass BEC.
I studied Ninja MCQ- completed all questions but maybe 100. My average was 72% and was trending 82% before I ran out of time.
Some questions on the exam I had never even SEEN the material before. And the icing on the cake was that 2 out of the 3 WCs I had ZERO clue on how to answer since in my opinion they were more FAR material than anything I studied for BEC. And unfortunately I studied FAR so long ago, I couldn’t remember much on the 2 obscure topics.
    So frustrated right now… =-(

I think I had the same test as you. I have no idea how I did. For a lot of those questions, I found myself thinking, “I guess it's this one. I don't see how it could be any of the others”. This was the first section I took that I really struggled through. But, you never know. Many people feel like they failed and ended up passing.

Welcome to the club. I guess the one good thing to come out of this is that we're all in the same boat and most people are feeling the same way after taking it.

    @ledgerl0ver @stevebrule @re2pect I need your guy's help!

I'm using NINJA MCQ's right now to study BEC and these problems are way to difficult (the computational ones). My becker expired so I tried NINJA for the first time on audit, and LOVED those MCQ's because they were shorter and I think more realistic.

I'm thinking of going back to Becker for BEC MCQ's because NINJA is so brutal.

What do you guys think!!? Or anyone else!!!?

I don't have any experience with Becker's mcq's, but I would stick with Ninja. There's a lot of over the top questions that you probably won't see on the actual exam, but it's better to be exposed to those type of questions than just doing ones that seem shorter and easier. Learn from the answer explanations and read through some of the resources provided in them to help reinforce the information. Towards the end of your review it should start to make a little more sense. Make sure you do a thorough review of IT and COSO right before your exam. I had a bunch of IT questions on mine that weren't covered in any review materials, but you don't want to give away easy points.

I don't care what anyone says, but BEC is the worst exam to prepare for. There are so many random topics they can test you on and they'll end up asking really specific questions on something that you may have skimmed over in your book because it's barely mentioned. I had a couple questions like that on my exam a couple days ago where I remembered it being mentioned in the book, but never thought in a million years I'd get a question on it.

I took BEC on the 12th of Aug and must have been same test I had too. Probably 5 questions in I just wanted to submit the whole test and leave. I was crying and thought you got to be kidding me, I didn't know what those questions were and I was the same as you @LedgerLOver I was trending 82% on NINJA MCQ and actually feeling prepared. I failed that thing so bad it isn't even funny, I am not studying for the retake on Oct 17th. I agree about the memos I didn't know what to write and on one of them I probably p offed someone for more of voicing my opinion than giving a book answer but at that point I had nothing to lose.

I took BEC yesterday as well. I thought I did really well on the first testlet I was tested on things I hadn't even heard of or knew existed. I was really frustrated. And, like @Steve Brule said, many of the questions I thought didn't have an answer I could choose with absolute confidence. I can specifically recall many economics and IT questions where my answer was a pure guess between two answer choices that I had limited it down to. I'm really frustrated because I think I failed and I really wanted to be done with this BEC garbage. Everyone says FAR is harder, and maybe that's true; but I have absolutely hated studying for BEC and the material is far more ambiguous and vague. As you all said, the examiners can test you over essentially anything business related in BEC and that's pretty freaking ridiculous.

@DISLCPA- I think I love you for using the memo portion to tell the AICPA off about the test!! ha ha ha BRILLIANT I only wish I would have thought about that. Like everyone else on this thread it seems like there was absolutely no way I could have studied for a lot of the info that was on there… and my Writing Sims were straight out of FAR- one I sat there just trying to conjure up some random nugget from FAR to write down- and I actually would have had zero clue what they were even talking about had I not already then FAR so there was that….

However all of that being said @LedgerL0ver and @FUBARFAR you never know so don't freak out quite yet- I have read so many post on here with people thinking they bombed it and they actually scored really high– BEC to me is the biggest effing crap shoot out there

And they ask me why I drink

    BEC 71, 82
    AUD 75
    REG 75
    FAR 61, 69, 83

and they ask me why I drink...

FAR- 61-next time I'll ask for lube instead of a calculator
REG-75- Never been so happy to see such a low grade
    BEC- 8/11
    AUD- 9/2

oh and @DISLCPA- when you say you are not studying for your re-take do you mean at all- period?? Its an intriguing possibility to me because like so many others I was trending high 80's and averaging low 80's on ninja plus averaging mid 90's on my rogers material- I felt like I could not know the stuff any better, I knew my formulas stone cold, could calculate variances in my sleep and could quote verbatim from COSO- but still failed and am truly at a loss on how to approach my retake… so maybe the not studying at all approach may work….

And they ask me why I drink

    BEC 71, 82
    AUD 75
    REG 75
    FAR 61, 69, 83

and they ask me why I drink...

LOL my writing sims were straight out of FAR too. Did anyone else have the same MCQ question twice? I had the same question in 2 testlets, and I 100% did not know the answer. It was soooo obscure.

I took BEC on Saturday the 27th. The first testlet was “easy” maybe an educated guess or two, but overall, not a problem. Testlets 2 & 3 were near impossible.

I just want to remind everyone that this test is meant to scare you. I left this test feeling about like I did after the other 3. I passed the other 3 on my first attempt with excellent scores. If 56% of people who took this test will pass, you only have to be better than 44% of test-takers during your testing window irregardless of how many questions you got right or wrong. If you prepared diligently, it is likely that you passed, no matter how you felt about the content of your exam.

Also, there are plenty of pretest questions on each exam. Most of the “left-field” questions, are unlikely to count toward your score. We only have to wait a 9 more days, so try not to make yourself miserable. If you prepared, you most likely passed.

@mckan514w that was a typo I meant to say *now* I am studying for the retake and I am using Wiley MCQ this time, I felt it was stupid on my part to pay for NINJA again when I practically knew all the answers. And as for the memo, I really didn't tell AICPA off I just gave my personal opinion on outsourcing. If I would have told them off, they would probably put my name in their doomed book and I would never pass (hahaha).

@mckan514w You're absolutely right. I take comfort in knowing my testlets got significantly more difficult, but its hard not to feel bad coming out of the exam. I felt the same way about FAR when I left.

@BHARP33 Yeah, my first testlet was very manageable. I wouldn't be surprised honestly if I got them all right or only missed a maximum of two questions. My second testlet was impossible and my third one seemed a bit more manageable. BEC is just harder for me to come to terms with post test relative to FAR because if I missed a question on FAR I felt like it was because I just didn't know what I was doing. But on BEC I felt like I didn't even have a chance because I had no clue what they were asking. Good luck on score release day and I hope you get your last exam passed!
