Today I took the BEC exam
Studied for 40 days full time 200+ hours.
As I read here from experience of others that the main questions are on Coso and IT. I gave special consideration for these two sections and know them in and out, truly I memorized everything on them as I want to compensate that I don’t like calculations.
And as other said I got the same version with too many Coso/IT.
But I was surprised that around half of them are absolutely not even mentioned on Becker.
Now I lost around 10-15 questions and after all these efforts I ended up hoping for 75 .
And for sure I will reconsider using becker again.

I used Becker and probably studied 200+ hours as well (I quit my job to study full-time) and paid extra attention to COSO and IT. I made about 150+ personal index cards and I knew the calculations very well. I got around 70% on my first go on the homework and used Ninja questions to supplement.

I had the same exam experience as you with alot of IT/COSO questions and I agree, I don't think Becker covered those areas sufficiently for the exam.

I'm really at a loss right now 🙁

    BEC: 75!

    FAR: 84!

    AUD: 81!

Personally I thought Becker was perfectly fine. How did you study?

    AUD: 74, 75

    BEC: 81

    FAR: 64, 66, 76

    REG: 84

I used Becker for BEC and did well too. There is much “Luck of the draw” in this process!

    AUD - 95
    BEC - 82
    FAR - 86
    REG - 82
Started prep using Becker live classes then switched to self-paced

Everyone doesn't receive the same test so you have to study all areas. You can't blame Becker.

If you're getting questions out of left field they're probably pretest. I had around 10-15 I straight guessed on between the best 2 or 3 options when I sat for BEC a couple weeks ago. I always just assume that if I haven't seen it then it must be pretest. Allows me to fly through the MC and leave lots of time for the SIMS which I think is what helped me pass both REG and BEC so far.

    REG - 92 (1/17)

    BEC - 82 (2/17)

    AUD - 89 (5/17)

    FAR - 94 (9/17)

Rogers Elite + Becker mcqs/sims for all 4 exams

    WA State Ethics Exam - 83, 83, 90 (9/17)

    AICPA Ethics Exam - 95 (9/17)

    1-year of work - complete (11/18)

    Licensed WA State CPA

    @nathalia
I watched lectures for each chapter then made a good summary (15-20) pages that i read every other day, solved half of the questions for each chapter.
Then went to material second time read every word in the chapter, memorize any thing need to be memorized, then after that solve all the MCQS
And then 4 days for review.
I studied alot ,and when I see 10-15 one line straight forward questions with 4 choices that I have never heard about any it is either a pretest or becker issue

I took the BEC exam this quarter and felt comfortably coming out of the exam, but barely passed. I think this is due to many smart candidates sitting for this quarter.
Back to your question, I agree that Becker doesn't do the best job covering the IT problems but heard other review courses doesn't do any better. Maybe that is why Jeff calls BEC the honey badger?
But hope you did enough to pass the exam. I guessed on more than 5 IT questions and I've passed so best of luck to you!

    AUD - 75
    BEC - 76
    FAR - 78
    REG - 79
    ALL PASS PLEASE!
