Hi , I am set to take REG in early Dec., but knowing I won’t make it because I am not even half way through the materials! If I change the exam date to late Jan or early Feb., that means I have to study for the new law? what happens to the CPA Review Course Comparison. Right now all review materials still using the old tax forms (eg. 1040, sch A etc), does it mean by Jan 1st, all review courses will be change to the new law ? Shouldn’t we be given enough time to study for 2019 exam? I do not know what to do…

    Thanks,

    Better Late Than Never!

Certain regulations will change. I am not sure how material the changes will be but Business Law section will not change materially. Other areas of taxation will have changes. I know it is confusing but several folks have pointed that the first exam in 2019 for REG may not test a lot of changes as AICPA knows that it is confusing to the candidates.

Bump. I'd like to know more about this as well. My plan is to also take REG in late Jan and I'm not sure how to prepare for it as most of the prep courses still use the old material. I plan on spending two months on this exam and while I wait for the review courses to update the material, should I study the BLaw sections first since they won't change materially…?
