I am currently studying for FAR (Aug. 9th). My favorite place to study is Panera Bread but it is half an hour away from my house which means if I study there I waste an hour driving and I spend a ton of money because I eat breakast, lunch, and dinner out…I’m looking for places closer to home for studying…the Starbucks near my house is horrible, small, only one outlet, and always crowded and noisy…I find it very difficult to study at home. Libraries aren’t an option since the ones near my house don’t even allow a water bottle inside and I’m a heavy drinker 🙂 So, what I’m wondering is…where does everyone else study???

You didn't really explain why you find it difficult to study at home. If you don't have the will power to keep the TV and radio off there's a problem, b/c this test takes everything you got to pass it including hours upon hours of intense studying. If you have a family then get up earlier and study before everyone wakes. The best time I've found to study is from 4am-7am before going to work at 8am, then I'll study during lunch at work and sometimes an hour after work from 5-6pm.

In a van down by the river.

Okay, not really. 🙂 I study at my desk at home. Sometimes I have to go to the bedroom where it's more quiet.

Morning I study in my room. Nights and weekends time I study at the library. Starbucks, panera bread or other food store will get me dristracted with the Starbucks machine noise or people talking or the chair is hard to sit etc.

Stop goofing around. Put headphone on, airplane mode on baby. Wifi Off. Yeah buddy! Stay focus! Soon I will be a cpa.

I mostly study in my office room at home. It does get a little distracting when my husband is watching TV, but he usually tries to stay pretty quiet or he listens to music or podcasts using earbuds. Usually one of my cats is in my lap and I'm wearing cozy clothes. I don't have kids yet so home is the best place for me to study.

I also will knock out a Wiley lesson or two at work over my lunch break but that's not my favorite. I have to wear noise-canceling headphones and I don't like the feeling that everybody is looking over my shoulder to see what I'm doing, even though I know they're not.

I could never study in a public place like Starbucks. I would be too distracted by all the conversations and noise, even with the headphones. Plus I wouldn't like having to keep purchasing food or drinks.

I study at work and home office. I don't think I'd be able to have a high quality study session without a computer (and laptops are infuriating to me).

I work in a small office and I'm usually the last one to leave so I can get some quality uninterrupted study time at the end of each day.

Lucky Goat Coffee Shop in Tallahassee, Im fully addicted to coffee and this place has cold brew nitro that will blast you into next week, once i moved from Tallahassee it was Whole foods and Starbucks.

But i'm a weirdo, i cant study in quiet places, i focus better when there is a ton of people around all talking. I think it is because 99% of the time i hate what people are talking about so Id rather study than listen to their conversation. if im at home I get nothing done, and in a library i just cant seem to focus.

Since I got my amazing noise canceling headphones I can study anywhere and even loud Starbucks doesn't bother me anymore. I like Panera Bread, I sometimes go there just for food and use studying as an excuse

    @CPAwannab

How does a noise canceling headphone work? sorry if its a dumb question. like you hear music and no outside noise? or you just have white noise? or its literally everything around you is mute and no music? LOL

I study at my office when I'm not busy. Now that it's warm I'll probably set a table on my deck. It really doesn't matter if you're comfortable with Panera, Starbucks, etc. Just get it done.
Noise make me focus, so my study area doesn't have to be absolutely quiet. It's a little difficult to study at home because there is always laundry, mail, dishes and etc. Even reading in bed, because my husband always want to talk when I'm reading. So go somewhere where you WILL study. Good luck to you.

@CPAwannab Panera bread is my exam day lunch. I schedule my exams for the afternoon so I enjoy my lunch at Panera before taking the exam.

I study at work during slow periods, at home and the library every Saturday. I usually wait until noon on Saturdays to go to the library so that I can make sure I have had lunch and will not have to leave until the library closes.

I usually just go to the library. Home has too many distractions. This library isn’t the greatest, but where I live, it’s really the only place I’ve got instead of home. I mean, last night there was a Celtic band practicing there….in a library.

I liked studying at either the Library or my workplace. Library was good because it was walking-distance from home. However, people didn't always whisper in there. Workplace was nice because it was super quiet; no distractions at all – BUT it was a 30 min drive (one way) form home, so I was sacrificing an hour of study time on weekends just for driving.

Yeah, libraries used to be good when they weren't so crowded. Now it's packed with rude people with no etiquette. I actually yelled at some kid once and immediately felt bad because he looked so confused and speechless. Don't lose your cool, kids.
