Wiley test bank not working – error

    I can’t get into it, I’ve tried running as an admin and I tried this method:

    1. Click Start -> Computer

    2. Navigate to C:Program Files (x86) [Double-click the C: drive, followed by the Program Files (x86) folder.]

    3. From there, navigate to Wiley Exam ReviewDesktop 2011WWW

    4. Right-click on the APP_Data folder and select Properties.

    5. On the Security tab, click the Edit button.

    6. Select the Users group to highlight it, then check the box below granting Full Control.

    7. Click OK to accept and save the change.

    8. Finally, reboot the machine and try running the application again

    Neither worked…. I also tried repairing the install off of the disc to no avail. This is really annoying…

    Server Error in ‘/' Application.

    Cannot open user default database. Login failed.

    Login failed for user ‘Jon-PCJon'.

    File activation failure. The physical file name “C:Program Files (x86)Wiley CPA Exam ReviewDesktop 2011wwwApp_DataWileyCPA2011_log.ldf” may be incorrect.

    The log cannot be rebuilt because the database was not cleanly shut down.

    I also had problems loading the Wiley test bank. Frequently it's an SQL error. Wiley technical support is pretty good. If the first tech you get isn't able to help you, try again and you'll get someone more experienced who will attempt to fix the problem using remote access. In my case, the tech wasn't able to fix the problem so they gave me a year to the online test bank instead.

    Hey guys,

    I had problems yesterday. It was taking forever to go from one question to the next, then it finally stalled. I think my problem is my router though.

    I agree with KB24, Wiley is great with resolving issues. Just contact them directly.

    I just find it rather annoying how finnicky their software is, looking on amazon there are a lot of complaints out there. I'm going to try reinstaling it then if that doesn't work I'll call them.

    @jwhere,

    I have had trouble with the disks also.(I forgot to mention) I got my Wiley by way of purchasing the Yaeger homestudy and Yaeger cram. Both times the disk didn't work and I ended up receiving the online version of both. But I was having trouble with the online yesterday….but as I said I think it is my router.

    I've also had problems with the CDs. I had 2010 CDs and they worked fine for months then all of sudden quit working. I tried reinstalling, to no avail. I researched the problem and finally contacted Wiley who sent me a link to fix the problem. The link worked and I could use the CDs…for about a week…then kaput again.

    I'm using the online Wiley test bank now and love it! I would definitely try to get the online version in lieu of the CDs.

    thanks for the support guys. I uninstalled then reinstalled the software and it's good to go now…. hope this isn't necessary again!

    Has anyone tried to right click on the wiley icon on their desktop and open it thru ” Run as administrator”? it worked for me and I have crappy Vista. You will have to reinstall once again before you do this though.

    This works sometimes, but not always. I also have Vista, and it didn't fix my problem. I ended up the Wiley online version because I couldn't get the program working after trying the fix recommended to me and then the tech couldn't fix my problem by remote access.
