I have 3 passed so far (see below!). I found out I passed AUD on 11/30. My last test is REG.

I was thinking about studying for a month and trying REG before tax season, but I reasoned I wouldn’t have enough time.

1. I barely have any tax experience. 3 months at my current firm is all.

2. With all the holidays I wouldn’t have time to study as much as I should.

My FAR credit expires 11/30/16, so I was planning on taking REG immediately after tax season-hoping that will help me on my test!

Am I screwing myself? The last thing I want to do is lose FAR. Will I have enough time?

How did you find out you passed audit on 11/30?
Won't your FAR credit expire 11/11/2016? You will have most of 2 test windows left for REG in 2016 – kind of tight but not awful.

You could always start studying now and take it in mid January before you get too busy. Worse case is that you have to retake it, but gain experience and insight into the test. Best case is your pass and don't have to worry about it anymore.

I took a test after busy season last year and found it is so hard to study. Busy season is just exhausting, especially your first one. I was able to force myself to study and passed, but it was terrible.

i think you should try to pass reg by mid- february. tax season will just be picking up speed by then so there will be plenty of time to study and enjoy the holidays. go for it!

yeah, utilize all time you have. you can do it during busy time too… i used to study 1 hr before work, 1 hr lunch time and 1-2 hours after work. you can easily get 20 hours in a week. if you do that between now and feb you'll be so ready for the exam.
