    Unnecessary.

Try retaking both exams with whichever material is most fresh in your head, and then precede to retake the next one, this time supplementing the multiple choice and simulations with a Ninja or Becker test bank.

If you covered everything, and you have the concepts nailed, then simply expose yourself to more questions.

    Same.

    I can barely sleep.

I have already began studying for my next test to distract myself as I need to get all 4 done with regardless – it’s been working during the day but as the release date gets closer I am beginning to fret.

@animalwithin Agreed. I am not sure why they got rid of the homework help center. It was very useful for breaking things out in order to understand them. Will not be renewing either. Hopefully, there are are some more format changes to come.

There is nothing you can do about it now.

However, Roger is not your problem.

The CPA exam is a difficult, tedious, and challenging process for all of the candidates.

I understand that it must be frustrating to get certain MCQ's wrong or to have to search for material online that was not covered in your lecture.

But – the onus is on you to a) not give up and to b) find ways to figure out how to solve your problem.

Might I suggest supplementing your review course with Ninja? Or taking a day off if you are feeling angry or frustrated?

    Good luck!

It’s ultimately up to you but I would move on as you’re getting sick of studying for audit. And then revisit it after taking BEC.

Why try and study for both at the same time instead of focusing on one at a time and giving it your best?

Also do not underestimate BEC. Good luck!

I’ve used both Roger and Becker.

In my opinion, Roger’s lectures are invaluable. He may not be covering EVERYTHING, but he definitely teaches and presents the information in a way that anyone can learn.

Becker’s value is in their software. Their test banks/practice exams/progress tests are very useful. However, I found their lectures to be very tedious and difficult to go through which is why I initially switched from Becker to Roger.

In the end, it doesn’t matter what software you use as long as you study hard and put in the work

i'm in the same boat as you are.

    practice practice practice.

it's impossible to know everything but the more you know/understand/memorize the better off you'll be.

regularly review material from previous chapters, create memory mnemonics and ways for you to remember what you have already studied and try doing multiple choice questions from previous chapters as you move forward.

what makes FAR difficult is the sheer volume of the material. more so than any of the other sections, it's very important that you don't “drop the ball” with FAR.

Try and relax and get some rest.

I would not gauge how I feel after completing one of these exams as an indication of whether or not I passed.

There are many people who have walked out of the exams feeling like they failed only to end up receiving a passing score.

Also, there is no “perfect” time to study for any of these exams. Everyone has different abilities and should determine for themselves the amount of time they need to put in to receive a passing score.

Good luck! Also, don’t forget this is just an exam and if you end up failing you can always retake it.

Currently using Roger for FAR. He’s very good at teaching concepts but he can be redundant in his lectures at times. I had the same problem as you did while going through his lectures. It is very counterintuitive for accountants to not be detail oriented.

Type out your notes if you can. Don’t type out every single word he says if he’s repeating a point or telling a story, and try to fill gaps of his lectures with the actual book if you can navigate to the page as he teaches the material. I also wouldn’t waste time watching a lecture if I’m already familiar with the material. I would just read the book.

I wouldn’t worry too much about how long my notes are as long as I’m still getting through the material in a steady pace. FAR is a beast and you need a tough mind to get through this exam. Keep pushing through the material and you’ll get there eventually. If this is your first exam, there shouldn’t be a reason why you need to rush yourself to get through it all. I’ve noticed a lot of people aren’t honest with themselves and/or don’t give themselves ample enough time to study for FAR the first time, and then end up failing the first few attempts before getting a grasp of the material.

Not sure if that helps but good luck!

    Lys.

Purchase ninja. And practice the multiple choice questions on repeat. As Audit is a highly conceptual exam, it should not be difficult at all to do countless multiple choice questions a day for the concepts to become solidified in your brain.

This alone is not enough to pass AUD, but should improve your score drastically.

    Good luck!

I am currently in the same boat as you are. It's overwhelming but try and remember that you don't have to know everything.

With FAR especially, I would recommend going back and reviewing what you have already learned as you push through the material.

Is anyone else who is studying for FAR currently feeling incredibly overwhelmed by the volume of material? I'm getting nervous about the exam and how I'm going to retain all of the information

If you're too distracted studying at home, try going to the library or the nearest coffee shop where other people are studying.

If you're feeling burnt out or a little bit out of it, then try taking a walk or hanging out with your friends and family one evening.

If that still doesn't work, then try taking the day off and coming back to your study materials with a new set of eyes.

However, It's important to stay disciplined and committed even if you'd rather be doing something else. If you find ways to make studying bearable, you'll be able to keep at it! You can even try rewarding yourself for hitting certain goals.

    Good luck!
