Thank you for your post. I am considering AICPA's IFRS Certification if it helps CPAs globally considering my wife is Filipino and her country has adopted IFRS.

Hi, Another71. I am Josh. I would like to think I can be done with the CPA in a little over a week from now. I am a Grant and Contract Specialist in healthcare for a FQHC in New Mexico. I've been at the CPA off and on for over 9 years. I graduated from college in 2000 and graduate school in 2003. I took the PHR because I thought accounting was not for me. I lost that for lack of the right level of experience. I took some accounting courses after being in the “real world” and seeing the market for accountants. I worked in public accounting but more than over 7 years ago being one of the guys who didn't want to be forced to be a CPA and making some poor personal choices.

I started the CPA while doing manual labor. I got 3/4 done at the moment. My hope is to pass #BEC for the 3rd and final time on the 1st. My main review is Becker. I have Ninja and some others. The biggest areas that I want to understand better are cost accounting and finance despite achieving securities licenses (more for trading than analysis). I'm also trying to balance family, work and this exam.

There's some good free resources out there. I'm not sure if it's worth spending any additional time on this close to exam day, but I read half of “Wealth of Nations” by Adam Smith for free on Spotify. It may be worth doing “J” in the Ninja framework for once (“Just rewrite notes”), although I am writing quite a bit with Becker. As busy as life gets, I still strive for daily MCQ's. Thanks for suggesting cpareviewforfree, Jeff. There's good stuff on YouTube and free webinars for the CPA. Some reviews offer free trials.

Thanks for these threads, Jeff. I believe the CPA will be worth it.

I got a 75 on #AUD. I took time to have fun playing music and well as study Christian Apologetics simultaneously. Somehow, life balance may help. Another strategy was working as many 5 question quizzes I could between the different reviews I have over weak areas and cumulative. I took miniexams and simulated exams aiming to score higher than 50s but often got above or below 75. It did not matter to me as long as I did not look up answers (a dangerous shortcut I've often sabotaged myself with in the past. I took the simulated exam, although I did not spend enough time on it. I hung in there like I did when I scored a 76 on #FAR til the end. I noticed something that possibly could have earned points in the last 2 minutes of my exam. I also love #Ninja #CRAM #Blitz and diving deeper on sparring if needed.

75 on #AUD. what's the difference between this time and my 2 previous 73s? I'm not sure, but I knew I hung in there til the end this time, and I probably caught something I needed in the last 2 minutes.

I got a 37 on my first #FAR exam. I've passed it once. I intend to pass it by the end of the month. Just got a 75 on #AUD. That's all you need to pass.

Hi everyone! I just took BEC and plan to take REG next while I wait for BEC results. I am aiming to take the exam in April or May because I believe I should be studying at least 20 hours a week even with a full-time and part-time job at the moment. I'm plan to follow and use Becker but plan to do MCQ's or use other Ninja tools to the best of my ability including sparring as I'm able and the N.I.N.J.A. framework. I wish you all the best.

I'm Josh. I've been taking the CPA too long; however, this month I'm pretty sure I've underprepared for BEC even though I've passed it twice before. Busy tax season. I'm giving REG a chance afterwards. If I don't have luck there, I'm still in the window for the EA. I'm a Ninja, but I've mostly been using Becker like I often have in the past. I take BEC Saturday. I say all of this while on break for a AICPA sample test.

I like Roger's audios. I often find myself quoting Roger to others. He gives good ways to remember things, but that's all I use for now. I use many audios especially programs that read books to me. It's because I have a lot of “audio time” at work.

I still like, “If you study, you will pass.”

How do you guys stay focused? I try to stick with “Pomodoros.” Those aren't easy for me. I've read that may be a personality trait? I've also heard it's possible to change “Chronotypes.”
