@gigabyte2001Scores will be released in less than an hour. Though potentially two if you factor in the site crashing for an additional hour as anxious zombie CPA candidates all try and attack the site at the same time…lol!

@saralc78 @cpamatt @txtoca – raising my fourth glass to you guys! Let us be free elves soon!

1 hour 15 minutes left. Feeling pretty #bl3ssed (or just buzzed) to be on the west coast but I know come 10 PM I will be swearing at anything and everything hitting refresh haha. Until then I will continue the theatrics of acting like my life either begins or ends.

Less than two hours left. Two drinks in.

I feel like I'm waiting for my be-hedding or something lol I don't think I could possibly be acting more dramatic rn.

But like actually this is totes life or death in my mind. I have cried at least three times today sporadically with the thought of a score between 65 – 74, because why would the AICPA allow someone who messed up an easy SIM into their club? The past 10 days have been so nice with zero studying (ok well despite the crippling anxiety here and there) and I can't imagine hitting the books again. And waiting until August. I honestly don't think I have it in me to continue this process in limbo through then. It's been about two years of studying – one essentially just wasting my time, money, and emotional energy, with the other buckling down and doing the damn thing. I don't think I have any buckle left! At this point I would give up anything to see a passing grade.

    Three drinks in.

Also what sick **** created this countdown clock?!!?!

I don't get it. I think it always comes out at 1 AM EST regardless of DST?

Either way, glad to be on the West coast for score release! I have three hours to drink before bar close regardless of what my score report says lol

@Sweazy – right – which is why I said that if you pass an exam you most likely got a hard testlet. It's not impossible, but less likely that you pass with all medium testlets. I feel like this is fairly well known information?

    From Roger

“As a result of the above four factors, it is not possible to compute your score on the CPA Exam based on the number of questions you answer correctly. You may, however, be able to predict the quality of your performance on the first and second testlet of MCQ by gauging the difficulty of the testlets that follow.”

I mean this dude thinks people are able to gauge testlet difficulty, so maybe we could all agree to disagree on this one? If you can't tell the difference, then you can't tell the difference – I believe you! But that doesn't mean that no one else can and that factors don't exist to assess difficulty. And I second what everyone else is saying – if you are well prepared, every question is going to seem relatively easy, and your testlets won't seem to get more difficult. That's where the subjectivity comes into play. I also don't think it's worth anyone's time to assess either before, during, or after the exam. You were either prepared or you weren't, you passed or you failed, but I think that's the reason why this forum exists – to commiserate and share strategies. To encourage and to build each other up. To have constant anxiety until score release with some anonymous internet strangers (which does in fact involve assessing testlet difficult and probably always will – you don't have to comment on these threads if you think they are stupid. It's really that easy).

So yeah, don't worry about it. There was a good chance that if you can't tell you were really well prepared. And everyone has more important things to worry about right now anyway, like March Madness. Let's all focus on sending positive vibes out for 3/21 score release, I'm pulling for everyone in this thread!

Q: How do you get a bunch of CPA Candidates/ CPA's riled up and fighting with each other in 5 words or less?
    A. Mention “MCQ testlet difficulty”

You need to get at least one hard testlet to pass the exam. If you get all medium testlets, you might have a chance if you absolutely crush the last one. Though it's much more unlikely. So yeah, it is highly probable that if you scored a 75 or above, you got at least one hard testlet.

I can always tell (multiple passes/failures to back it up – unfortunately) and am definitely not kidding myself. I typically practice both the 2015 & 2016 AICPA released moderate and difficult questions before each exam and will mentally compare the formats to my testlets during the exam (don't do this, I have a problem and don't be like me).

You should have access to these if you buy the Ninja MCQ for whatever applicable section. Of course subjectivity does come into play – as in a question won't seem difficult to you if you have studied the content in that specific area hard enough. I typically find that it doesn't have to do with the wordiness, or calculation dependency in a question but more obscurity/ two questions could be correct. Or the general wording could be annoying.

But to echo what everyone else will say, you shouldn't waste time on the exam trying to assess if you think it is moderate or difficult, you should just focus on answering the question (I clearly don't follow this advice lol). At the end of the day all that matters is you study and prepare as best you can – and try and nail the SIMs of course!

General caveat though – if you are scoring in the high 80's/90's on the exam, it would probably be more difficult to assess the difficulty. This is because that is such a master level of understanding of the material you are literally crushing every question on that exam and destroying anything in your path so it probably all seems pretty easy! For someone like me on the other hand, who is providing uh, “reasonable” assurance to the test makers that I know my stuff…well it's a bit easier to assess.

@needsa75 yeah like I said, I swear we took the same Audit exam lol. All the information was given to me, I just still messed it up. I did this SIM last, so like 3 hours and 40 minutes into the exam. My brain was pretty donezo at this point, and I stupidly went back and changed my answers. What was I thinking? Not sure, but I am blaming it on my brain flopping out and crawling toward the Prometric exit.

    @leo_bloom
    – yup, as you can see I try and study for the “right amount” aka barely making that mark! But I am attributing those 76's to the SIMs lol. I did do a year in Audit so who knows, I might shock everyone and pull a 77! But again, I will be beyond ecstatic getting a 75.

Here to ride the “please give me a 75” train on Audit as well! Trying to enjoy this whole not studying thing, but every few hours or so I can't help but think about next Monday. Trying to forget how I messed up some easy ratios on one of my SIMs is like trying to forget that one really embarrassing/uncomfortable moment you had as a teenager. Keeps popping up at the most random times. Go away, go away! Please let me just pass!

Trying not to get my hopes up so I'm not super disappointed but let's be real it's my last exam, a failure will be soul crushing! It's nice to know I have so much company in waiting on Audit scores though
